Four six-string guitars and one four-string bass are being introduced by Fender`s Custom Shop into the Limited Edition series.
Fender`s Custom Shop is in charge of the best and most exclusive of all Fender models. Guitars and basses from this segment of the catalog bring that extra quality, which makes them the most exclusive electric guitars and basses in the existence. Also, some of the axes from Fender`s Custom Shop are among the most sought after collector items. For 2013, Fender reinforces the Limited Edition series with five brand new models. Four of them are six-string electric guitars and one is a four-string bass. Guitars introduced this time are: Limited La Cabronita "Gato Gordo" Jaguar, Limited La Cabronita "Luchador" Stratocaster, Limited Custom Deluxe Jazzmaster and Limited Jaguar Pro. Bass department is represented by Limited Relic 1955 Precision Bass. These models come with supreme quality of build and top shelf hardware. Sound-wise, all of them are vintage-oriented.
Fender Custom Shop Limited La Cabronita "Gato Gordo" Jaguar features a 25-1/2" scale, instead of the standard 24" scale. It is made of alder body and maple neck. Hardtail bridge with string-through construction is fronted by a TV Jones PowerTron humbucker in bridge position. There is no neck pickup. Master volume and Greasebucket tone knob comprise the controls. Maple neck is topped with a 21-fret maple fingerboard. The MSRP is set at $5,400. Fender Custom Shop Limited La Cabronita "Luchador" Stratocaster is very similar to the previously reviewed Jaguar. Select alder body is solid, flat on top and has a bolt-on neck joint. Hardtail bridge has chrome plating, block saddles and it`s fronted by a TV Jones Powertron humbucker. Master volume and Greasebucket tone knob are found in controls unit. Fender Custom Shop Limited Custom Deluxe Jazzmaster is one of two Jazzmasters introduced into the Limited Edition series this time. It is the most expensive model in this quintet. Solid okume body is topped with a flamed maple cap and paired with a flamed maple neck. Adjust-o-matic bridge is backed by a floating trem tailpiece and fronted by a pir of fat single-coils. Flamed maple neck is topped with a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard. The MSRP for this model is set at $7,000. Fender Custom Shop Limited Jazzmaster Pro is the second of two Jazzmaster models reviewed in this text. It is a gorgeous white-clad six-string axe with solid, flat body made of lightweight ash. Neck is made of quartersawn maple. Fender`s standard tremolo bridge is fronted by only one pickup. It is a bridge-positioned JB-11 humbucker made by Seymour Duncan. Maple neck has C contour in the back and a 22-fret maple fingerboard on top. The MSRP for this model is set at $6,500. Fender Custom Shop Limited Relic 1955 Precision Bass is the only bass model among the five Limited Edition updates for 2013. Classic double-cut body is flat on top and made of ash. Vintage-styled bridge with aluminum cover is fronted by a single-coil pickup positioned in the middle. Master volume and master tone knobs make up the controls unit. Bolt-on maple neck is topped with a 20-fret maple fingerboard. The MSRP for his model is set at $5,800.
