With the "flipped over" construction, classic design and top notch American Vintage pickups, Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster brings the tone and feel of Jimi`s original axe.
Since its inception in the late 1950s and early 1950s, electric guitar enjoyed a steady progress, slowly becoming the main instrument of the emerging rhythm & blues/rock and roll scene. As rock music grew bigger, it became an open lab, a testing ground where the limits of equipment, instruments, artists and the audience were tested and pushed further and further. In the later half of the 1960s, British scene was a melting pot brimming with young misfits from all walks of society, who adopted rock music as their form of expression. Rock grew bigger, more flamboyant and extreme with each single and LP during the 1960s, taking everything in its stride, but the revolution, the quantum leap came from across the ocean. Adolph Rickenbacker, Leo Fender, Ted McCarty, Seth Lover and Les Paul might have invented the world`s most popular instrument of the 20th and 21st centuries, but the Seattle born Voodoo Chile changed it forever in the late 1960s. With a regular right-handed Strat reversed and restrung as a lefty, with a completely new way of rhythm and chord playing, and prophetic, trailblazing solos, James Marshall Hendrix launched electric guitar through a wormhole, reinventing it with every record and performance throughout his short career. Fast forward some five decades to 2015, Fender pays tribute to the late guitar god with a stellar Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster. A simple, straightforward guitar which affords the modern players the real deal, the genuine Jimi Hendrix experience.
Fender Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster rocks a classic Strat body made of alder and a maple neck with a reversed headstock. This gives a tighter, stronger tone on the bass side and easier bends on the treble side. Also, the reverse-mounted `65 single coil Strat pickups (mounted as if it was a lefty guitar) bring back all the voodoo Jimi`s original Strat possessed. 21-fret fingerboard is made of maple and marked with classic black dot inlays. It features 9.5" radius and 1.65" string nut, just like the classic Strat Jimi used to play. Other premium features include: a synchronized tremolo bridge with string-through construction, aged plastics, chrome-plated hardware and engraved neck plate with Jimi Hendrix likeness.
