A tribute to one of the greatest rock icons of the 1990s, Kurt Cobain, this model comes just in time to spice up the Fender exhibition at NAMM 2012.
The new type of music with it`s anti-hero attitude and leader hit the stages in the late 80s and early 90s. It was an unstoppable force like a tidal wave. The music was grunge and it`s leader was Kurt Cobain. A legend and a genius musician, Cobain left an immeasurable legacy and impact on the rock music. One of his favorite, and in the last years of career almost only electric guitar he used live was a Fender Mustang. A small scaled model set deeply in Strat and Tele shadows was hiding some of the most recognizable and memorable tones ever recorded. To honor Kurt and his music, Fender decided to make a Kurt Cobain Mustang model with all the features faithful to the models Kurt used.
Fender Kurt Cobain Mustang is a solid bodied, double cutaway model with a body made of alder. It is available in right and left handed variants, both with dark lake placid blue with stripe, sonic blue and fiesta red color options. Adjust-o-matic bridge is paired with dynamic vibrato tailpiece. Pickups on this model are Seymour Duncan JB humbucker in the bridge and Mustang neck single coil pickup. The neck is made of maple and equipped with a rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets and dot inlays. This model is represented just in time for the NAMM 2012 show.
