Along with many novelties for 2012, Fender releases the Select Series, a classy looking line of exclusive models. The Select Series features exotic top woods, high quality materials Fender`s renowned master craftsmanship. Slogan under which the series is built is "Select instruments for select individuals". Stratocaster models of the series include Select Stratocaster and Select Stratocaster HSS. Telecaster models are Select Carved Maple Top Telecaster, Select Carved Koa Top Telecaster and Select Telecaster. There are also Select Precision Bass and Select Jazz Bass.
Fender Select Stratocaster HSS is one of two Strat models in this line and it features a humbucker in the bridge position. It starts off with an alder body with a flame maple top in combination with a C shaped maple neck. Bridge is a modern version of two-point synchronized tremolo and the pickups are all from Fender Select range of pickups. Bridge position sports a humbucker, while the middle and neck have singles. Rosewood fingerboard has 22 medium jumbo frets with dot inlays. Compound fingerboard radius goes from 9.50 to 14 inches. Scale is standard 25-1/2" and the synthetic bone nut is 1.685" wide. Fender Select Stratocaster is the second Strat model in this series and it brings the standard pickup layout. Dark cherry burst body is made of alder back and flamed maple top. The body is finished in lacquer gloss. Modern two-point synchronized tremolo has nickel/chrome plating and string-through construction. Fender Select single coil pickups are featured in all positions and C shaped maple neck has flamed maple fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets. Fender Select Carved Maple Top Telecaster is the first of three Telecasters introduced into this high end series. Amber colored body is made of empress back and carved flame maple top. Lacquer gloss and white binding wrap the body specs. Modernized Tele bridge still encompasses the slanted bridge pickup which is paired with another single coil in the neck position. The neck and fingerboard are made of flamed maple and the neck has a C contour. 22 frets, dot position inlays and synthetic bone nut are all standard Tele features. Fender Select Telecaster is the luxurious version of the 60 year old legend, and it looks as hot as ever. It kicks off with violin burst colored chambered ash body with a flame maple top. The bridge is nickel/chrome plated modern version of the Tele bridge. The pickups are standard two single coils with the bridge one being slanted. The neck is made of birds eye maple with a C contour. The fingerboard is made of the same material and features 22 medium jumbo frets with black dot inlays.
