Fender and their Custom Shop division are back with a pair of exclusive models - Flea`s signature Jazz Bass and Mr. Townshend`s limited edition Custom Shop model.
The list of influential and important blues, jazz and rock musicians who have contributed to Fender`s popularity over the decades is probably longer than the mythic Highway 66, but Fender does more than a decent job rewarding the greatest among them with some of the finest signature instruments in existence. This time we have two debutantes, both legends and masters of their respective crafts. The first model is Flea Jazz Bass, a vintage four-stringer with a simple name and killer groove. The second one is Custom Shop Limited Edition Pete Townshend Stratocaster. A guitar made for the most discerning classic rock and hard rock players out there and, of course, Mr. Townshend`s fans. Now, without the further ado, let`s dive in and see what these exclusive signature models bring to the table.
Fender Flea Jazz Bass is a fantastic replica of Flea`s own 1961 Jazz Bass. Every scratch, dint, chip and bang have been faithfully recreated on this amazing four-stringer. Just like the original, Flea`s JB comes in Pink Shell, with road worn finish and tortoise shell pickguard. Electronics section includes mid-60s pickups, along with stacked control knobs. Hardware is also vintage Fender. For further info and full specs list check the Flea Jazz Bass detail page on our site or Fender`s official web page.
Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition Pete Townshend is one of the most exclusive Strats ever made, but it is available in very limited quantities. The classic alder/maple chassis comes with Torino Red paint scheme and urethane finish over both the body and neck. Combined Fishman/Fender hardware and electronics promise a whole new dimension of Stratocaster, making this the perfect solution for players who have to switch between an electric and acoustic guitar frequently.
