Chris Shiflett and Nate Mendel have received their signature models from Fender. Telecaster Deluxe for Chris and P Bass for Nate.
Foo Fighters are currently one of the most influential bands on the rock scene and they are comprised of highly skilled musicians. What is more important, they are comprised of highly skilled musicians who love Fender. Both Chris Shiflett and Nate Mendel are long time fans of Fender and have played almost solely Fender instruments throughout their careers. Now it`s time to give some love and dedication back to the distinguished players. There fore Fender has decided to build and issue signature models for these two hard rocking fellows. Nate Mendel P Bass and Chris Shiflett Telecaster Deluxe are the names of models introduced in honor of Foo Fighters` members. These two come rather affordable price tags and Fender quality of build and tone.
Fender Nate Mendel P Bass is Fender`s signature bass made for Nate Mendel and it comes with an iconic Precision contour. It`s body is made of ash and it features minimalistic approach Fender is known for. No top wood veneer, binding or top carvings. Bridge is Leo Quan Bad Ass II and it comes with chrome plating. There`s only one pickup, it`s middle-positioned Seymour Duncan SPB-3 Quarter Pound. Master volume and tone knobs are present. Maple neck is equipped with slim C contour and bolt-on joint. Fingerboard`s made of rosewood and it features 20 medium jumbo-sized frets with dot position inlays. Hardware is chrome-plated on this one. Fender Chris Shiflett Telecaster Deluxe comes with an alder body made with characteristic single cut design. Pickguard on top of the body covers a half of the top surface and serves to shield electronics. New CS1 humbucker is in the bridge and New CS2 in the neck. They have split controls and three-way toggle pickup switch manipulates between them. C-contoured maple neck is bolted to the body and finished in urethane. On top, there`s a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard. medium jumbo frets, dot inlays, 12" radius and 1.65" synthetic bone nut are featured on the fingerboard.
