A total of eleven models has been unveiled this time. Four Framus guitars, two Warwick basses and five Rockbass models.
Warwick and Framus are among Germany`s premier bass and guitar brands today. Their catalogs cover wide ranges, both style-wise and price-wise. They produce models suitable for pretty much any style of music, be it blues, jazz, rock, or even metal. On of the novelties introduced is signature model made for Accept`s Wolf Hoffmann. Other Framus novelties are Panthera 8, AK 1974 S jazz guitar and Framus Vintage 5/168 Golden Strato Deluxe. Warwick introduces two models into the "Made in Germany" line, vintage-styled Streamer CV and mighty Thumb BO LTD 2013. Rockbass catalog has been updated with five new basses: classic Star Bass Maple, upright Triumph bass, sinister Vampyre Darklord, unique W Bass and trusty Corvette Basic Medium Scale.
Framus Wolf Hoffmann Signature is a brand new model and signature series in Framus catalog. It is made for the famous Wolf Hoffmann, the leading member and guitarist of German metal band Accept. It is a V-shaped guitar with maple body and neck-through construction. Body is solid, flat and painted in white with gloss finish. Bridge is Floyd Rose original trem system with locking nut. Pickups are EMG, 81 is in the bridge and two single coils in middle and neck positions. Maple neck is topped with a 24-fret tigerstripe ebony fingerboard. Framus Panthera 8 is one of two metal-oriented guitars introduced this time by Framus. It comes with a classic Panthera single-cut body made of mahogany. There`s no top wood on this one, though the top side is carved. Bridge section is equipped with a one-piece hardtail bridge with string-through construction. Seymour Duncan Blackout active pickups are being installed on this model. Volume and tone knobs feature push/pull switches for coil splitting. Framus AK 1974 S is the only jazz guitar introduced in this catalog update from Framus. It has a semi-hollow single-cut body made of flamed mahogany back and sides with flamed maple top. Top is equipped with multi-ply binding and a single "f" hole. Tune-o-matic bridge is backed by a stoptail bar and fronted with Seymour Duncan pickups. Framus Vintage 5/168 Golden Strato De Luxe is the only Framus novelty in this article made in China. It has a body reminiscent of the legendary Fender Jazzmaster. It`s body is solid, double-cut and made of mahogany. Large portion of the body is covered with a three-piece pickguard. Bridge is a tune-o-matic with vibrato bar installed on it. It is plated in gold. Pickups are Framus Vintage single coils. They feature passive electronics. Maple neck is bolted to the body and it features 21-fret rosewood fingerboard. Warwick Streamer CV is one of two models introduced into the Warwick lines for NAMM 2013. It is a Classic Vintage model with a special combination of vintage and modern specs. It has a standard double-cut body made of US swamp ash and a bolted maple neck. This Streamer is only available as a four stringer, fretted and fretless. Classic Warwick two-piece bridge is fronted by a pair of passive MEC Jazz pickups with passive controls. Maple neck is topped with 24-fret rosewood fingerboard, or fretless tigerstripe ebony. Warwick Thumb BO LTD 2013 is one special bass introduced for this year`s NAMM. It is a limited edition Thumb with double-cut body made of US swamp ash with vavona burl top. Black hardware is installed on this model and it`s contrasted with natural satin finish. Warwick two-piece bridge is fronted by active EMG single coils. Bolted neck is made of 100% FSC certified wenge and it`s topped with a tigerstripe ebony fingerboard. Both fretted and fretless options are made of ebony. Rockbass by Warwick Star Bass Maple is a model from the newly established Star Bass series in Rockbass section of the catalog. This one is available in four and five-string variants, fretted and fretless. When fretted, it has a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard, when fretless, tigerstripe ebony fingerboard is featured. Maple is used for both the body and set-in neck. Warwick two-piece bridge has top-load construction and it`s fronted by passive MEC pickups with passive electronics. Rockbass by Warwick Triumph Lite is an upright bass guitar available only as a fretless four-stringer with solid maple body. Design of this model is actually based on an original made by Framus several decades ago. Today, it is revived for NAMM 2013 and it`s made as an affordable electric double bass option. It features a neck made of maple. It`s bolted to the body and topped with a rosewood fingerboard. 40" scale, Rockbass piezo pickups and passive electronics complete the specs list for this outstanding model. Rockbass by Warwick Vampyre Dark Lord comes with a longer scale, it has 35 inches, instead of standard 34". It gives a more sinister tone and helps redefine the tone quality standards for the Dark Lord`s price class. Modern double-cut body is made of alder and it`s paired with a bolt-on maple neck. This combo is getting more and more popular with electric basses and it`s complemented with rosewood-made fingerboard with 24 extra jumbo frets. This Vampyre is only available as a four-stringer, right and left-handed. There`s no fretless variant for this model. Rockbass by Warwick The "W" Bass is one of five novelties introduced into the Rockbass catalog for 2013. It comes with a solid, double-cut body shaped after the letter "W" in Warwick`s logo. Even though it is a budget-friendly variant made in China, this bass boasts a tremendous tone and respectable build quality. Only four-string variant with 24-fret rosewood fingerboard is available. Flat mahogany body is paired with a bolt-on maple neck with ekanga veneers. This four-stringer is equipped with a one-piece bridge with top-load construction and passive pickups in J/J configuration. Rockbass by Warwick Corvette Basic Medium Scale is the fifth and last catalog update for Rockbass section of the catalog. This model is an affordable medium-scaled variant of the legendary Warwick`s Corvette bass. It comes with a classic double-cut body made of alder. It is solid, flat on the top and paired with maple neck with ekanga veneers. NEck joint is a bolt-on, equipped with four bolts. Standard Warwick two-piece bridge is plated in chrome and equipped with top load construction. Active MEC pickups are installed in J/J pattern and feature active electronics.
