Three models, of which two are electric guitars and one electric bass come as Framus catalog updates for March 2012.
Framus, a name with a long tradition and big reputation is at home at Frankfurt Musikmesse, as they are one of Germany`s premier brands. Enjoying the second wind of success under the helm of Warwick bass company, Framus operates with high success in last fifteen years. This time, Framus luthiers prepared three novelties. All three are situated in the Korean-made portion of the catalog. Electric guitars introduced are: Earl Slick Artist Series and Vintage 5/120 Billy Lorento. Bass division from Korea brought brand new 5/150 Star Bass. These models continue Framus tradition of vintage styled rock machines.
Framus Earl Slick Artist Series is a solid bodied double cutaway guitar made of swamp ash body and mahogany neck. This combo is joined via the bolt-in neck and accompanied by a rosewood fingerboard. The body is bound in creme and equipped with a vintage-styled plastic pickguard. Bridge section offers a choice between tune-o-matic/stoptail and Bigsby vibrato combos. Also, the player has a choice between DiMarzio PAF-styled humbuckers and DiMarzio P-90s. Controls include volume, tone and a three-way rotary pickup switch. Framus Vintage 5/120 Billy Lorento is a single cutaway guitar placed in the Vintage series made in Korea. It comes with a laminated spruce top and laminated flame maple back and sides. The binding applied on this model is creme colored. Vintage styled pickguard and an "f" hole adorn the top. Two Framus single coil pickups are in charge of the amplification of this model. Master volume, bass and treble controls are accompanied by a three-way toggle switch. Rosewood bridge on this model comes with a trapezoid tail piece attached to the very bottom of the guitar. Mahogany neck has a set joint and is topped with a rosewood fingerboard 22 frets, block inlays and 24-3/4" scale complete the specs. Framus Vintage 5/150 Star Bass is a tribute to the original Star Bass introduced in the late 1950s. It features a body made of laminated maple back and laminated flamed maple sides and top. Both the top and back are bound in creme. Top also features a vintage pickguard and "f" holes. A pair of Framus Vintage single coil pickups drive this bass with the assistance from the master volume, bass, treble and a three-way toggle pickup switch. The neck is made of mahogany and it features a set-in joint. Rosewood fingerboard has 20 frets and dot position inlays. Scale measures 30" in length.
