FSR Rustic Ash series hits the stage. Two models, one Strat and one Tele comprise the initial lineup of this interesting line.
Rustic Ash is the name of Fender`s newly introduced line of electric guitars. It is currently made up of two models, the Rustic Ash Stratocaster and Rustic Ash Telecaster. More models and expansion to the electric bass section of the catalog are expected in the near future. Rustic Ash is a brand new concept which substitutes the traditional alder with ash and assumes the role of the standard body tonewood. Also, there are anodized aluminum pickguards on both the Strat and Tele. Traditionally, there are maple and rosewood fingerboards available for these models. Rustic Ash Stratocaster costs $1,799, which matches the Rustic Ash Tele`s price exactly.
Fender Rustic Ash Stratocaster is the first of two guitars introduced and reviewed in this article. First off, the body rocks the modern contour and is made of ash, instead of alder. There is also the anodized aluminum pickguard with brown paint on the top to establish the visual identity. Instead of standard solid and gloss-finished color schemes, this Strat is fit with see-thru colors with satin finish. Standard tremolo bridge and Texas Special single-coils are featured on the top. Maple neck has modern C contour in the back and a 22-fret fingerboard on the top. For more info check Rustic Ash Stratocaster detail page on our site, or on Fender official web page.
Fender Rustic Ash Telecaster is the second of two models introduced into the starting lineup of the FSR Rustic Ash series. It shares a majority of the features with it`s double-cut sibling. Body is solid, single-cut and made of ash in it`s entirety. On it`s top, there`s a modern variant of the Tele bridge with six saddles and string-through construction. Texas Tele single-coil pickups feature the standard controls unit. Standard maple neck is topped with a 22-fret fingerboard (both rosewood and maple options are available).
