Stunning Gold Top Les Paul is released in honor of 50 years of Marshall amps. Only 50 copies will be made for world-wide distribution.
It`s 50 years of Marshall amps and basically what the brand has achieved is that their name became almost synonymous with word amp. Years and decades of ultimate dedication, passion and quality are materials needed for that kind of achievement. Similar thing has been achieved on the other side of the Atlantic, where Gibson Guitars` Les Paul guitar revolutionized the way people looked at and played guitar. It became an icon of not just rock music, but of an age and culture it came from. To have two such strong and iconic entities in the same business is difficult to find, but two such giants which look and sound as though they were made for each other, well that happens once in every few thousand years, or so. Fifty years ago, young and adventurous guitarists paired LP and Marshall and the rest is the stuff of legends. Today, Gibson Custom pays tribute to the amp that propelled Les Paul to the stratosphere with 50th Anniversary Marshall Les Paul GoldTop. With price of jaw-dropping $20,000 and only 50 copies to be made, ultimate exclusivity is guaranteed.
Gibson Custom 50th Anniversary Marshall Les Paul Goldtop is based on 1957 Goldtop Reissue and it features loads of vintage and historically accurate features. Body is solid and made of mahogany back with maple top. Carved top is bound in creme binding and finished in nitrocellulose lacquer. Tune-o-matic bridge is paired wit stoptail bar in the back. Both are plated in nickel, as are vintage-styled Gotoh tuners. Burstbucker 2 is in the bridge and Burstbucker 1 in neck. Split controls and three-way toggle pickup switch are used to manipulate the pickups. Mahogany neck is set in with mortise & tenon joint and equipped with '50s rounded contour. It is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with nitrocellulose trapezoid inlays. 12" radius and 1-11/16" wide nylon nut complete the fingerboard.
