The end of 2011 sees the reinforcement in the Firebird line with brand new 2011 Firebird Studio Non-reverse. A guitar for the fans of vintage looks and modern tones.
Back in the 1960s Firebird was a handsome devil that just rolled into the town offering some feisty competition to all of the big names in the game. A bit toned down sharp edges of the 1950s prodigy, the Explorer and hot Gibson pickups made Firebird a force to be reckoned with. In the mid '60s the non-reversed version was introduced and it quickly rose to fame equal of his predecessor. The new Gibson 2011 Firebird Studio Non-Reverse is a tribute to these models made from 1965 to 1969. Though offering classic looks, this guitar offers modern tones with three tappable P-90 single coils, five way pickup selector and solid mahogany body and neck.
2011 Firebird Studio Non-Reverse kicks off with a flat top double cutaway body made of solid mahogany. Glossy finish on Pelham Blue and Vintage Sunburst options is complemented with characteristic white pickguard. Tune-o-matic bridge and stoptail bar, the most trusted bridge combo at Gibson Guitars commands the tuning stability of this Firebird with pin-point precision. Three fat P-90 single coil pickups are placed at bridge, middle and neck positions and offer unsurpassed tonal versatility as they can be tapped with push-pull switches on volume knobs installed separately for each of them. The controls department is wrapped up with a master tone knob and five position blade pickup switch.
Neck on the 2011 Firebird Studio Non-Reverse is made of mahogany and features ultra thin profile and mortise and tenon glued in joint. The baked maple fingerboard has 22 frets and dot inlays. The fingerboard radius traditionally measures 12 inches and the corian nut is 1.695" wide. Other features include: mini Grover Kidney tuners, chrome plated hardware, white pickguard and nitrocellulose lacquer. The MSRP for this model is set at $2,129.
2011 Firebird Studio Non-Reverse brings the perfect blend of vintage looks and modern versatility. Hot and fierce, this Firebird is a serious competitor whatever arena the player decides to throw it at. Check 2011 Firebird Studio Non-Reverse at our detail page or at Gibson Guitars official web page.
