Les Paul has finally stepped into the 21st century with Gibson`s X treatment. Loads of electronics and some cool peripherals are included in this mighty expensive pack.
Gibson LPX is a brand new installment in the Les Paul range in Gibson`s USA side of the catalog. This marvel of high technology and modern design comes with the MSRP set at whooping $4,999. The specs list, build quality and stunning performance abilities make the LPX a very good and sound investment for all aspiring guitarists who find it hard to express themselves with only one guitar. Following in the footsteps set a couple of years ago by the Firebird X, LPX comes with a tested, tried and improved variant of the X concept. The basic idea behind this concept is to offer all-in-one guitar for players whose versatility and artistic freedom are obstructed by a myriad cables, effect pedals, processors and guitars. Besides the guitar, there are also several peripherals included, such as G-Node Interface for the communication with computers, Bluetooth Number Controller pedal which dials in the stored presets and programmable Bluetooth Continuous pedal.
Gibson LPX is a solid and single-cut electric guitar with a body made entirely of maple. On it`s top, there`s the traditional flamed maple top. Maple was, in this case, chosen for it`s sturdiness and pretty much neutral tone which can be easily modeled. Neck on is made of mahogany and it features the classic slim taper contour in the back. On the top of the body, there`s a standard two-piece bridge unit with piezo pickup integrated into the tune-o-matic bridge. In the front, there are three minibucker pickups installed. They`re controlled and manipulated through master volume, master tone, five-position blade switch and a series of additional switches and knobs. 22-fret fingerboard is made of granadilo, while the headstock is fit with robotic tuners.
