For 2013, the year of Les Paul, Gibson USA has prepared a multitude of new and updated models in both the Les Paul and SG series.

Les Paul has left immeasurable legacy and made huge impact on how we see electric guitar today. New SG models include: SGJ, SG '50s Tribute, SG '60s Tribute, SG '70s Tribute and SG Future Tribute. The only updated model from SG line is Angus Young SG. Updated models are equipped with new fingerboards, which are now made of rosewood and grandillo, instead of ebony and baked maple. New color options are also introduced. Gold hardware is introduced as option on some models, while the robotic tuners can be ordered with every model in 2013 catalog.

Gibson Les Paul Standard 2013 and Gibson Les Paul Standard 2013 Left Handed come with classic construction and modern electronics. Mahogany back and carved flamed maple top are paired with asymmetrical mahogany neck. This neck is fatter on the bass side and thinner on the treble side. BurstBucker Pro pickups are equipped with coil-splitting for increased versatility. Body of the new LP Standard is strategically chambered for both the better tone and improved playability.
