Gibson is introducing a total of four models in these two ranges. Two regular SGs, a Derek Trucks signature and one regular FIrebird model.
Along with the iconic single-cut Les Paul, SG and Firebird are the strongest and most popular six-stringers Gibson makes. Several legendary rockers are SG series signature artists, while the Firebird is the favorite misfit rocker guitar of all time. For 2015, a total of four models is being introduced into the SG and Firebird ranges. SG Special and SG Standard reinforce the regular SG line, while the 2015 Derek Trucks SG refreshes the signature series of the legendary rocker. Firebird V is the only representative of the Firebird range. All of these models come with a selection of new and improved features for 2015.
Gibson USA 2015 SG Special is one of three SG models introduced and it is the new basic model of the range. Solid mahogany body is flat, double-cut and paired with a mahogany neck. 61 Zebra pickups, brass nut, 24-fret fingerboard and G Force tuners are among the novelties. Gibson USA 2015 SG Standard reprises many of the features from the previous incarnation. The novelties include the 1.795” brass nut, 57 Classic pickups with coil-splitting, Gibson G Force tuners, thicker wires, titanium saddles, thicker fingerboard and wiring, Les Paul signature and hologram on the headstock. Simple mahogany body with set in neck, `257 Classic pickups with standard controls, two piece bridge with decorative tailpiece, wider fingerboard with brass nut and vintage tuners are featured on this one. Gibson USA 2015 Firebird V is the only Firebird novelty for 2015.
