New SG Standard bass and Thunderbird Bass have made it into the 2015 lineup of electric basses. They bring the classic Gibson tone and construction.
2015 Gibson USA lineup of electric bass guitars will be enriched with two new models. Both of them are updates of the previously existing models, but considering the improvements and changes Gibson USA has made all over the electric side of the catalog, these might be considered as completely new basses made from scratch. SG series is being updated with a new SG Standard Bass with a short scale and rather affordable price. On the other side, Thunderbirtd series receives the new Thunderbird Bass. It is the next series flagship and one of Gibson`s strongest models on the four-string side of the market. Both models are equipped with a selection of improvements and changes made for 2015 catalog, though their original purpose and aims remain unchanged. SG Standard still aims at players who like the full-sized tone in a small pack, while the Thunderbird is addressing the players who need extra strength and sustain.
