Gibson breaks away from the tradition of heavy-weight bodies with this Custom Lite. Thinner body and weight relief chambers ease the load and improve the tone.
Gibson has been known in past six decades for some of the heaviest guitars in serial production. Thick bodies made of genuine mahogany gave an awesome tone, but were also very burdensome. Over the decades, Gibson devised a series of measures to make the bodies lighter without compromising the tone. The most efficient and most recent was the modern weight relief chamber system. This system places the chambers in strategic places to both reduce the weight and enhance the tone. This modern system gave fantastic results and now Gibson steps it up a notch. In addition to the chamber system, Gibson`s luthiers have made the mahogany base considerably thinner. Final result is a Les Paul Custom Lite with full, smooth and powerful tone and a body in middle weight class.
