Guild Guitars reinforce their Standard series with five models and introduce brand new Arcos line with three models.
Guild, since the early 1950s exists as one of the leaders of the acoustic part of the guitar industry. Their standard and F models set the bars for many manufacturers in last six decades. And, these days 2012 updates are rolling in with style and supremacy Guild is known for. The Standard series is reinforced with F-20 acoustic and acoustic-electric models and an acoustic-electric bass. F-20 Standard, F-20 Standard Left Handed, F20E Standard, F-20E Standard Left Handed and B-54CE Standard are the names of the models. Arcos series is a newcomer to the Guild catalog and it starts off with: AD-3, AD-3CE and AO3CE.
Guild AD-3 is a fully acoustic dreadnought with no cutaways. Laminated mahogany back and sides and solid spruce top comprise the body of this guitar. The bridge and fingerboard are both made of rosewood and they feature bone saddle and string nut, respectively. 20 frets, 14th fret dovetail joint, mahogany neck and Ping die-cast tuning machines wrap it up for this model. Guild AD-3CE is acoustic-electric cutaway variant of AD-3. It also has laminated mahogany for back and sides in combination with a solid spruce top. Backs on these Arcos models are arched for better tonal projection. Rosewood is the material of choice for bridge and fingerboard and the neck is made of mahogany. Guild AO-3CE comes as an orchestra sized guitar with a cutaway and Fishman electronics. It kicks off with laminated mahogany back and sides and a solid spruce top. The neck is made of mahogany and meets the body at the standard 14th fret. Rosewood fingerboard and bridge have bone nut and saddle, and D`Addario strings between them. 20 frets, Ping die-cast tuners, 25-1/2" scale and chrome plated hardware complete the specs list for this model. Guild F-20 Standard and F-20 Standard Left Handed come as new models for Guild`s highly acclaimed Standard series. Both models feature all-solid tonewood policy and have bodies made of mahogany backs and sides with spruce tops. Ivoroid bindings, tortoise pickguards and ivoroid rosettes adorn the tops. Bridges and fingerboards are made of rosewood and feature bone string nuts and saddles. These models are fully acoustic and feature no means of amplification. The MSRP for them is set at $2,499.99. Guild F-20E Standard and Guild F-20E Standard Left Handed are acoustic-electric variants of F-20. They come with concert bodies and D-TAR under-saddle preamps. Mahogany body backs and sides, as well as spruce tops are all made of solid woods. Necks are made of mahogany with 14th fret dovetail joints. Guild B-54CE Standard is the only bass update this time. It comes from the Standard series and brings a jumbo sized cutaway body made of maple back and sides with spruce top. All woods are solid, no laminates are used for Standard series models. Fishman Matrix Infinity electronics are in charge of the amplification. Mahogany neck features a 20 fret rosewood fingerboard with 12" radius and 1-5/8" wide bone nut. The MSRP for this model is set at $3,219.99.
