Hofner Launches Gold Label Series

Hofner unveils a brand new line of high end basses and Guitars named Gold Label. It arrives just in time for the winter NAMM 2013.

Hofner is one of the brands with longest tradition in the business and is, most certainly, one of the premier European manufacturers. Their history goes back to 19th century, lot further than most of the brands around. Hofner is a name that says quality, reliability, style and Gold Label series just takes it to the next level. It is a brand new series and it represents a sort of custom department for Hofner. Models introduced in it are made in limited numbers by master luthiers and can be customized according to player`s specs and requests. Supreme quality of build, materials and tone is guaranteed. Models introduced for 2013 are: Chancellor, Chancellor Thinline, President, President with Vibrato and Violin Bass.

Hofner Gold Label Chancellor is a fully  hollow electric guitar with single-cut body and set in neck. It features top grade flamed maple on the sides and in the back. Hand-carved solid spruce is used for the top. Luxurious binding and "f" holes decorate the top panel. Standard fixed bridge and decorative tailpiece comprise the bridge section. Hofner`s Diamond pickups are installed in the front. Flamed maple neck is set and topped with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard. Hofner Gold Label Chancellor Thinline is basically the same as the standard Chancellor, with only major difference being the thinner body on this one. Flamed maple and spruce are used for the fully hollow single-cut body and the standard bridge section is taken from the regular Chancellor. This one also features Diamond pickups installed in the front of the bridge. Separate volume and tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch accompany the pickups. Hofner Gold Label President is also a fully hollow guitar with set neck construction and arched back and top panels. Materials used for the body are flamed maple for back and sides and spruce for the sound board. Body is deep and bound in several layers of binding. Bridge section is the same as on the Chancellor models and the pickups configuration, as well. Neck is made of flamed maple and it features a 22-fret ebony fingerboard on top. 25-1/4" scale, brass hardware and glossy finish complete the specs list. Hofner Gold Label President with Vibrato is the fourth and final six-stringer introduced this time. It features largely similar specs list as the standard President, but instead of the standard bridge section, it features a vibrato bar. Body is fully hollow and made of birds eye maple back and sides with solid spruce sound board. Pickups are Hofner Diamond mini humbuckers installed in both the bridge and neck positions. Controls include separate volume and tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Flamed maple neck is made with set-in joint and it`s topped with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard. Hofner Gold Label Violin Bass is currently the only bass model in this series. It comes with a fully hollow body made of flamed maple back and sides with spruce sound board on top. This selection of tone woods is also found on other models of the Gold Label line. Top is arched and decorated with multi-ply binding. Fixed bridge is paired with a trapezoid tailpiece and it`s plated in chrome. Toaster single coil pickups are making a comeback, as they were not featured in the catalog since 1960. Flamed maple and beech are used for the neck construction on this model. Neck is set and topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
