Italia Guitars unveil three models. Two guitars and one bass. Bass is Imola 4-stringer and Guitars are Modulo 3 and Fiorano.
Italia Guitars are based in the United Kingdom, but their models are produced in South Korea. Behind the name Italia stands one of the biggest names among guitar builders, he is Trev Wilkinson and three models introduced in this article are designed by him. Three models unveiled and three series updated is the score for Italia Guitars today. Two models are electric guitars and they are Modulo Tipo 3 and Fiorano. The bass is Imola with four strings. All Italia models are vintage styled and based upon guitars and basses from '50s and '60s. But, they do not strive to be mere copies, they have Trev Wilkinson`s spirit in them and they are made to surpass the models they are made after.
Italia Fiorano is the first of three models to be represented in higher detail in this article. It is a fully hollow-bodied guitar with double cutaway design and carved top. Mahogany back and sides are matched with a spruce top. This combo is well known from acoustics and it works perfectly for Fiorano. This body is equipped with a pair of dog-ear P-90s and tune-o-matic/trapezoid tailpiece bridge section. Hard rock maple neck is set-in and topped with a 22 rosewood-made fingerboard. Italia Modulo Tipo 3 is a solid bodied guitar and it clearly draws upon the legendary Strat design. Double cutaway body is flat and made of agathis. It features no bindings or top woods. Three single coil pickups are installed in front of the tremolo bridge. Bridge pickup is a P-90 styled single, while the middle and neck pickups feature regular single coil housings. Hard rock maple neck is bolted to the body and it features a rosewood fingerboard on top. 22 medium jumbo frets are covered with dot inlays. Italia Imola 4 Bass is a fully hollow electric bass with 34" scale. This model features all-korina body in combination with bolted hard rock maple neck. Top of Imola 4 is covered almost entirely with the pickguard, so only one "f" hole can be seen. Bridge section is equipped with a hardtail bridge and trapezoid tailpiece in the back. A pair of J-styled pickups is featured in the pickups department. Upon the hard rock maple neck Italia Guitars have installed a rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets.
