20 new models have been launched by Jackson Guitars and the focus was set on signature series and extended range models.
Jackson Guitars have once again proved that they are one of the strongest and most dedicated brands in the industry. Twenty new models have been introduced in four segments of the catalog. The premier Signature Artist section is now richer for two exceptional players, Chris Broderick of Megadeth and Corey Beaulieu from Trivium. Chris Broderick Pro Series Soloist 6, Chris Broderick Pro Series Soloist 7, Corey Beaulieu USA Signature KV6 and Corey Beaulieu USA Signature KV7 are the names of the models. Dave Ellefson signature bass series also got expanded with Dave Ellefson Signature Kelly Bird Bass. Six new guitars reinforced the Pro series, with four six-stringers, one seven-stringer and one eight-string guitar. Pro DKA Dinky 7, Pro DKA Dinky 8, Pro DK2HT, Pro DK2MHT, Pro DK2QHT, and Pro DK2MQHT. USA select has received two models with seven and two models with eight strings. Their names are USA Select B7MG, USA Select B7MG Deluxe, USA Select B8MG, and USA Select B8MG Deluxe. Three guitars and two basses were introduced into the JS series. Guitars are JS22-7 DKA Dinky, JS32-7Q Dinky and JS32-8Q Dinky. Basses are JS3QM Concert Bass, and JS3VQM Concert Bass.
Artist Signature
Jackson Chris Broderick Pro Series Soloist 6 is the first signature models reviewed in this text and it is made by Jackson for Megadeth`s lead guitarist, Chris Broderick. This model was created in collaboration with Chris, who made contributions in design area. Archtop mahogany body is paired with a through-body maple neck. Rosewood fingerboard has 24 jumbo frets with no inlays at the front, only side dot markers. Floyd Rose bridge and custom DiMarzio pickups designed by Chris complete the specs list. Jackson Chris Broderick Pro Series Soloist 7 is the second model introduced into the series and it features basically the same set of appointments, but with the added, seventh string. Arched mahogany body and through-body maple neck form a strong alliance and fantastic base for DiMarzio humbuckers. 24-fret fingerboard on top of the neck is made of rosewood and is marked only with side dot inlays. Jackson Corey Beaulieu USA Signature KV6 features the modern variant of the legendary King V contour. It comes with standard six-string construction and alder body with flamed maple top. Seymour Duncan Blackouts are featured on this model and in their back Jackson installs a Floyd Rose tremolo bridge. Maple neck runs through the body and sports a 24-fret ebony fingerboard with shark tooth inlays. Jackson Corey Beaulieu USA Signature KV7 rocks the same modern V contour as it`s six-string sibling. Seymour Duncan Blackouts and Floyd Rose bridge are found on this model, as well. Construction-wise, this model pairs a an alder/flame maple body with a quartersawn maple neck. Neck runs through the body and sports a 24-fret ebony fingerboard on top. Jackson Dave Ellefson Signature Kelly Bird Bass is the only signature bass introduced this time. t features the classic Kelly contour-ed body made of basswood. It`s paired with a bolt-on maple neck. Bridge section sports a high mass bridge with top-load construction. EMG pickups, Jackson tuners and 21-fret maple fingerboard complete the list of specs. Pro Series
Jackson Pro DKA Dinky 7 is one of two extended range guitars introduced into the Jackson`s Pro series at this year`s NAMM. Classic double-cut body is made of archtop alder and paired with bolt-on maple neck. DiMarzio`s D-Activator humbuckers are installed on the top. Hardtail bridge features string-through construction. Jackson Pro DKA Dinky 8 is a sibling model to previously mentioned DKA 7 and these two share the same base. Carved alder body is paired with a bolted maple neck. Fingerboad has 24 frets, custom 12th fret inlay and is made of maple. DiMarzio D-Activator pickups are featured on this model. Behind them, a series standard hardtail bridge is installed. Jackson Pro DK2HT is one of four six-stringed Dinky models in the Pro series. It has an alder body with a bolted maple neck. On top of the neck, Jackson installs a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard and DK2HT is one of two Pro series Dinky models with rosewood fingerboard. Hardtail bridge is fronted by a pair of Seymour Duncan pickups. These new Dinky models are made for players who aim at '80s hard rock/glam and shred scene. Jackson Pro DK2MHT comes with a classic Dinky body made of alder and neck made of maple. Neck joint is the trusty old bolt-on. Passive Seymour Duncan pickups sit on the top and are backed by a standard hardtail bridge with string-through construction. Maple neck is topped with a 24-fret maple fingerboard. Jackson Pro DK2QHT is the same as DK2HT, only with an added quilted maple top over the alder-made base. On top of the body, this model features a hardtail bridge with string-through construction and a pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers. JB is in the bridge position and '59`s in the neck. Jackson Pro DK2MQHT has quilted maple top over the alder body and a 24-maple fingerboard over the bolt-on maple neck. Other than that, it is a pretty standard DK2 model. USA Select
Jackson USA Select B7MG is the basic of four models introduced into the USA Select series at this year`s NAMM show. Modern double-cut body of this model is made of alder and paired with a maple neck. Jackson USA Select B7MG Deluxe features a through-body maple neck, instead of a bolt-on neck on regular B7MG. EMG 81-7 is in the bridge and EMG 707 is in the neck position. Body of this model is solid, double cut and made of alder. B in the name of these new USA Select series stands for Baritone, for all four models feature 27" scales. Jackson USA Select B8MG is an eight-string variant of the B7MG model and it basically features the same specs list. Modern double-cut body is made of alder. Jackson USA Select B8MG Deluxe is a modern eight-string guitar with double-cut body made of alder. Top side is carved and equipped with a hardtail bridge with string-through construction. JS Series
Jackson JS22-7 DKA Dinky is the basic model of the series and it comes with a basic set of specs. Double-cut basswood body is paired with a bolt-on maple neck. This Dinky features a hardtail bridge with string-through construction and seven adjustable saddles. Jackson humbuckers are installed in the front. 24-fret rosewood fingerboard is installed on top of the bolted maple neck. Scale measures 26-1/2" in length. Jackson JS32-7Q Dinky is the second seven-string model introduced into the JS series at this year`s NAMM show. Basswood base of the double-cut body is topped with a beautiful quilt maple cap.
