This concept has made Gibson proud on several previous occasions, of which, the most popular model is Jimmy Page`s double neck guitar made in 1971. This time around, a Les Paul model is assigned the honor of carrying the twelve-string flame. Name of the guitar introduced by Gibson is Les Paul Traditional 12-String. It comes with a single neck, as opposed to Jimmy Page`s double neck and it`s loaded with top notch appointments for the best twelve-string performance ever heard. Gibson USA set the MSRP for this one at $3,299. Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Ebony and Goldtop color options share this price tag.
Gibson Les Paul Traditional 12-String is one exceptional axe as it successfully blends the twelve-string concept with heavily charged rocker setup Les Pauls usually feature. Weight relieved body is a modern feature and it goes really well with the extra set of strings, as do the '57 Classic active humbuckers in the pickups area. Body is made of mahogany base with maple top. Top is arched and bound in creme binding. Tune-o-matic bridge is plated in chrome and paired with it`s standard companion, a stoptail bar. Heavy hitting humbuckers have enough power and sustain in them to pull of almost any stunt, but are at the same time exceptionally balanced and noise free. Standard control unit is installed with them. Neck is made of maple and it sports a thin '60s contour. Rosewood is used as the fingerboard tonewood. Standard 22 frets have figured acrylic trapezoid inlays. 1.75" wide corian nut and 12" radius complete the fingerboard. Tuners installed on this one are Grovers.
