Loar introduces exciting two models to the Small Body series, the LO-215 and LO-216. These two are fully acoustic parlor-sized siblings.
Loar is a brand oriented towards the production of guitars inspired by the golden age of acoustic guitars. Their catalog is divided into three major series: archtop, small body and mandolin. Archtops are acoustic and acoustic electric guitars inspired by the shapes and appointments of 1920s and '30s archtop guitars. Small body is a line of acoustic parlor-sized instruments. And, Mandolin series consists of hand carved mandolin models. 2012 saw two updates, and they are both placed within the Small Body series. Their names are LO-215 and LO-216. They were both introduced at the NAMM Show this January.
Loar LO-215 is a parlor-sized guitar with no cutaways, it`s body is made of maple back and sides with a solid spruce top. This body is combined with a C-shaped mahogany neck through a dovetail joint at the 12th fret. No electronics are featured on this model, it`s fully acoustic. The neck features a rosewood fingerboard with 19 frets and dot position inlays. Other features include: gold-plated vintage tuners, 25-2/5" scale and 1-11/16" wide bone nut. Loar LO-216 is the second model introduced into the Small body series at NAMM Show 2012. It`s basic specs are very similar to those of LO-215. LO-216 is a non-cutaway parlor-sized guitar with a body made of mahogany back and sides and solid spruce top. Neck on this model is made of mahogany with C contour and dovetail joint. Rosewood fingerboard sports 19 frets with dot position inlays and 1-11/16" wide bone nut. The bridge of this acoustic parlor is also made of rosewood. The MSRP is set at $359.99.
