Martin Guitars unveil the brand new 000-28EC model at Summer NAMM 2013. This gorgeous little six-string heart breaker can be yours for around $5,000.
Just as great people are drawn together, great ideas, great companies and things also gravitate to each other to form those special moments, things and bits of pure genius, be it music, science, sports, philosophy, name it. It is utterly simple and yet so hard to explain in plain words what is it that gives the potential of genius and what drives it towards other things and people with the same potential. One such connection was renewed for the summer 2013, when Eric Clapton and Martin Guitars have joined their forces once again to create and introduce the supreme 000-28EC model. This purely acoustic six-stringer is fit into the distinguished Marquis series and costs $4,599 for Natural and $4,849 for the Sunburst variant. Judging bu it`s looks, tone and feel, it is safe to say that 000-28EC is one of the most serious contenders for the "best acoustic of 2013" title, even though we`re only half way through the year.
Martin 000-28EC is a guitar from the exclusive Marquis series and it is made for the king of the blue strings, one and only Eric "Slowhand" Clapton. It comes with a classic non-cutaway 000 body made of luxurious east Indian rosewood and top grade spruce. Back and sides are made of rosewood and the sound board is traditionally made of spruce. Bridge on the top is made of solid ebony and it is paired with an ebony fingerboard. Under the hood, there are no pre-installed electronics, though they`re offered optionally. 000-28EC features the hardwood neck with modified V contour in the back and a 20-fret fingerboard on top. Nickel-plated Gotoh tuners, 24-9/10" scale and 1-3/4" bone nut complete the basic specs list. For more info, check 000-28EC detail page on our site, or on Martin Guitars official web page.
