Ibanez introduces a total of eleven signature models this year. Nine solid-bodied guitars and two solid-bodied basses.
For 2014 edition of the world-wide famous NAMM show, Ibanez has prepared a ton of new models and eleven signatures among them. There are only two categories with new signature models, solid electric guitars and solid bass guitars. Electric guitars section claims nine of eleven entries, leaving only two models to the bass segment. Tosin Abasi TAM10, Jake Brown JBM100, Paul Gilbert FRM250MF, Head KOMRAD20, Kiko Loureiro KIKO100TRR and KIKO10P-TRR, Munky APEX200 and APEX20 and Mick Thompson MTM20-WH were introduced at Ibanez booth. Bass side contributes to the list with Fieldy K5WHLTD Limited Edition and Peter Iwers PIB3. These awesome signatures will be available from the second, or third quarter of 2014.
Ibanez TAM10 is the first of eleven signatures reviewed in this article. This solid eight-stringer rocks the classic RG design, along with bolt-on construction and passive electronics. DiMarzio Ionizer pickups are installed in HSH pattern. Solid and flat basswood body, bolted maple/walnut neck and 24-fret rosewood fingerboard complete the specs. Ibanez JBM100 is the first Ibanez signature made for Jake Bowen. It comes with a solid and double-cut S body made of mahogany and maple. Bolted neck is made of maple and bubinga. DiMarzio Titan humbuckers with golden covers are featured on this model. 24-fret ebony fingerboard, Edge trem bridge and 25-1/2” scale complete the specs. Ibanez FRM250MF is the first of several limited editions introduced into the Signature Artist segment this year. It is the newest Paul Gilbert signature Fireman six-stringer. It comes with a solid mahogany body with flamed maple top and set in mahogany/maple neck. DiMarzio pickups are installed in the HSH pattern (bridge and neck pickups rock the classic zebra design). 22-fret rosewood fingerboard completes the specs. Ibanez KOMRAD20 is Head`s first Ibanez signature model. Solid and double-cut basswood body of this seven-stringer is paired with a simple three-piece maple neck with Wizard contour. Ibanez KIKO100TRR is the first of two models made for Kiko Loureiro of Angra, Brazilian power metal titans. KIKO100TRR is a solid and double-cut guitar made of alder and flamed maple. It is a solid five-stringer with a mahogany body and maple/bubinga neck. Pair of active humbuckers delivers a bone crushing tone, while the sealed tuners and classic hardtail bridge keep the tuning under control. Entire bass is painted in white.
