NAMM 2014 Ibanez Solid Guitars

With over forty novelties introduced, Ibanez overhauls the solid-bodied electric guitars side of the catalog for 2014. All major series and ranges are being heavily updated.

Being among the biggest and most important brands in the world, Ibanez has duty of keeping the catalog fresh, current and competitive. Over the year, models and series are being updated little by little, but the NAMM is the place where Ibanez catalog is completely overhauled each year. For 2014, Ibanez has introduced over one hundred new models, of which solid bodied electric guitar segment takes forty two models (excluding the solid-bodied signature models). RG, S, AR, Road Core, Mikro and many other series are being reinforced with new models. Vast majority of new guitars are brand new models, while some of them are updated versions of already active guitars.

Iron Label

Ibanez RGIR28FE is one of two RGIR models introduced into the Iron Label range fro 2014. It comes with a solid and double-cut basswood body and bolted maple/walnut neck. Ibanez RGIB6 is the second of two RG models introduced into the Iron Label range at this year`s NAMM. Ibanez ARZIR20FB is one of four Artist models introduced into the Iron Label range. It comes with a solid mahogany/bubinga body with the recognizable single-cut design. 25” scale, EMG 81/60 pickups, two-piece hardtail bridge and a 24-fret fingerboard are featured on this six-stringer. Ibanez ARZIR20FB Dark Brown Sunburst

Ibanez ARZIR27FB is the seven-stringed variant of the ARZIR20FB and it comes with the same exact specs as the mentioned six-stringer. Solid and single-cut body is made of mahogany and bubinga and is paired with a mahogany neck. EMG707 humbuckers, fixed bridge and an ebony fingerboard are also featured. Ibanez ARZIR20 is a magnificent six-stringer with single-cut LP body and set in neck. Active EMG pickups are paired with a solid mahogany body and ready to wreak havoc. Behind them, Ibanez installs the standard two-piece hardtail bridge with top-load construction. 24-fret ebony fingerboard is fit on top of the mahogany neck. Ibanez ARZIR27 kicks off with a bound LP body and set in neck. Body is made of mahogany in it`s entirety, as is the neck. RG

Ibanez RG655 is one of several novelties introduced into the RG Prestige series at this year`s NAMM show. It comes with a classic RG body made of basswood and bolted maple neck. Passive DiMarzio pickups, Edge tremolo bridge and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard are the main features of this six-stringer. Ibanez RG752 is a seven-stringer with DiMarzio PAF 7 pickups, locking Edge tremolo bridge and classic bolt-on neck joint construction. Ibanez RG652FX is very similar to the RG752. It has six strings and a fixed Gibraltar bridge. Instead of PAF 7 pickups, RG652FX rocks the Dimarzio Tone Zone/Air Norton combo. Ibanez RG752LWFX comes with a very rare body wood combo; basswood is in the back and limba on the top. This combo is matched with DiMarzio`s PAF 7 humbuckers and maple/wenge neck. Ibanez RG852 is a simple eight stringer with a solid and double-cut basswood body and a bolt-on maple/wenge neck. This giant is fit with a 27” scale, eight-saddled Gibraltar bridge, EMG808 pickups (instead of series standard DiMarzios) and a 24-fret fingerboard made of rosewood.
