With a completely overhauled Frank Bello series and affordable Bunny Brunel, Tom Araya, Pancho Tomaselli and Gabe Crisp models, ESP and LTD aim high this year.
Following the electric guitar signature models review, we`re taking on the electric bass side of the signature segment. Out of nine models introduced, four are found in the completely reconstructed Frank Bello series. One of them is ESP (ESP Frank Bello) and three wear the LTD badge (FB-4, FB-204 and FB-208). Bunny Brunel series receives two models, a four-stringer and a five-stringer. BB-1004QM and BB-1005FL are their names. Pancho Tomaselli`s series is being expanded with the beautiful PT-4, while the Gabe Crisp receives the simple GC-P4. And last, the main man of the ESP electric bass signature series, Tom Araya of Slayer, gets only one model – the menacing TA-204.
The most expensive among the new models, and the only one with the ESP badge, luxurious ESP Frank Bello is a solid, Precision-shaped four stringer with an alder body, bolted maple neck, Hardtail Gotoh bridge, vintage Gotoh tuners, EMG X series pickups and a 21-fret ebony fingerboard. For more info, check the ESP Frank Bello detail page on our site or the official ESP Guitars web page.
With LTD tuners instead of Gotoh, and chrome pickguard instead of a black one, LTD FB-4 reprises the ESP Frank Bello specs list almost entirely. EMG X series J/P pickups, 21-fret ebony fingerboard and the alder body are found on both models. For more info, check the FB-4 detail page on our site or the official ESP Guitars web page.
The affordable LTD FB-204 makes the Frank Bello series accessible even to the beginners. Solid and double-cut basswood body with a series standard black pickguard, bolted maple neck with a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard on top and ESP electronics make up the core specs of this model. For more info, check the FB-204 detail page on our site or the official ESP Guitars web page.
Modern styling, additional four strings and two-piece bridge set the FB-208 apart from the rest of the Frank Bello signature line. Besides these features, it also comes with a set of powerful ESP Designed soapbar pickups and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. For more info, check the FB-208 detail page on our site or the official ESP Guitars web page.
Bunny Brunel`s signature line was treated to a pair of upscale LTD models and BB-1004QM is the four-string option. Alder/quilt maple body with a flat top, through-body maple neck, 24-fret ebony fingerboard, potent Aguilar pickups and Hipshot hardware comprise this mighty four-stringer. For more info, check the BB-1004QM detail page on our site or the official ESP Guitars web page.
Five-string model of Bunny Brunel`s signature series goes under the name of BB-1005FL. Solid alder/quilted maple body with modern design and styling, asymmetric maple neck with a fast profile in the back and a 24-fret ebony fingerboard on the top. Aguilar pickups and Hipshot hardware is found on this one, as well. For more info, check the BB-1005FL detail page on our site or the official ESP Guitars web page.
Pancho Tomaselli`s PT-4 comes with a gorgeous Black Aqua color scheme over the swamp ash body, 21-fret ebony fingerboard over the and LTD`s vintage tuners. Also, Aguilar J/P pickups combo, Babicz bridge and 34” long scale, are featured on this model. For more info, check the PT-4 detail page on our site or the official ESP Guitars web page.
As the only model in the current Gabe Crisp series, GC-P4 was introduced at this year`s NAMM in Anaheim, Ca along with other ESP and LTD basses. Solid alder body, bolt-on maple neck, passive ESP LDP/LDJ pickups combo and 21-fret maple fingerboard are found on this upper middle class four-string. For more info, check the GC-P4 detail page on our site or the official ESP Guitars web page.
Tom Araya of Slayer rocks the wickedest looking signature series in the entire ESP/LTD bass section. Its brand new LTD TA-204 model brings the wild looking and infernally feisty sounding TA series to the masses, making it affordable to pretty much every player out there.
