With these four magnificent six-stringers we`re wrapping up the extensive reveiw of Schecter`s electric guitar updates for 2015.
Apart from the big, multi-platform series (series like Hellraiser, Platinum, Blackjack, etc, which include models with several different body types), Schecter`s catalog boasts a string of single-platform series (series with models based on a single body type). Some of these single-platform series offer some of the finest rock and metal axes available on the market today. 2015 edition of the NAMM show brings us four single-platform novelties, all belonging to a different series. S-1 is the starting model of the new S-1 series, while its close sibling- S-II Custom is the starting model of the S-II line. New Tempest Custom revives the cult Tempest range, and V-1 FR Blood Splatter stirrs things up in the famed V series.
Starting with a classic rocker based on the classic double-cut LP design, we introduce you the marvelous S-1. A guitar with a short name, straightforward construction and classic, yet simple styling. Beveled mahogany body, set maple neck, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, Grover tuners and Schecter Diamond pickups with zebra coils make up this beauty. For more info, check the S-1 detail page on chorder.com or Schecter Guitar Research official web page.
Continuing and developing the same basic idea, but now with the cult SG as the base, Schecter has established the S-II series and S-II Custom as its opening model. Mahogany/flamed maple body with an elongated upper cutaway, set in mahogany neck, 22-fret ebony fingerboard and Schecter Pasadena pickups are featured on this beauty. For more info, check the S-II Custom detail page on chorder.com or Schecter Guitar Research official web page.
After years of slumber, the mighty Tempest series returns in the shape of the brand new Schecter Tempest Custom. Double-cut mahogany/plain maple body, set in mahogany neck with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard, Schecter Pasadena pickups (same as S-II Custom), two-piece bridge unit and Schecter tuners make up the core of this classic rocker. For more info, check the Tempest Custom detail page on chorder.com or Schecter Guitar Research official web page.
The fourth and final model is the infernal Schecter V-1 Blood Splatter. Unike the previous three, this one is made for pure metal mayhem. Solid V body made of mahogany, set in mahogany neck with a flame maple fingerboard (22 frets, painted black) and EMG`s 81/89R pickups combo (89R instead of 85 for the coil-splitting) make up this two-pronged metal axe.
