Cordoba introduces the Negra version of the super popular 55FCE model. Upgraded with gorgeous ziricote back and sides, it not just looks like, it also sounds like a million bucks.
As one of the most popular brands of affordable and middle class classical guitars in the world, Cordoba is constantly under pressure to produce something on the same, or superior level to it`s already existing models. Back in 2013, the gorgeous 55FCE model was introduced. It was a signature model made for one of the biggest guitar bands with non-rock orientation, the legendary Gipsy Kings. Frenchmen who sing in Spanish and a super popular virtuoso guitar band not playing rock music can, apparently, happen in Europe. Europe is, or more precisely, Spain is the home of the classical guitar and a constant inspiration for Cordoba Guitars, which can easily be seen in the series and models names throughout the catalog. Also, the species of cedar, which is extensively used for the necks on Cordoba guitars, originates from Spain. For the winter 2014/15 Cordoba unveils another 55FCE model. This time it is a 55FCE Negra with a gorgeous ziricote body, top class electronics and astonishingly elegant hardware.
Cordoba 55FCE Negra is a splendid nylon-stringer with a flamenco-styled single-cut body. This means it`s shallower than the standard classic and has a bit different frets, more adjusted for heavier strumming. The star of the specs list is the gorgeous ziricote. Not only for the heart-stopping looks, ziricote was chosen for it`s magnificent tone. In combination with the standard spruce sound board and Spanish cedro neck, it gives a rich and well balanced tone with rosewood-like depth of ziricote enhanced with spruce`s crisp and warmth of the cedar. Electronics section on this beauty is fit with Fishman`s standard Matrix piezo pickup installed under the saddle of the Indian rosewood bridge. Prefix Problend preamp is installed onto the side. Ebony fingerboard and Cordoba`s own gold-plated tuners are also included.
