14 models across 9 series are being unveiled at Cort Guitars as reinforcements for the season 2012.
People over at Cort Guitars have worked tirelessly and relentlessly over past couple of months and finaly, new models for 2012 are here. Classic, AS, MR, NDX, SFX, Luce, Jade, Earth and Standard series got their reinforcements. AC7 and CEC3 are placed within Classic Series, AD810-12 and AD810-12E in Standard Series, AS-M5 in AS Series, Earth1200 is reinforcing the Earth lineup, Jade1 steps up for the Jade Series, L1200P is being introduced into the Luce Series, MR1200FX and MR710F-12 are MR Series additions, NDX-CQ hails from the NDX Series and SFX-AB, SFX-DAO and SFX-FM are backing up the SFX lines. Classic Series
Cort`s Classic Series models are classical and concert shaped instruments. They come both with and without electronics, depending on the particular model. This series is envisioned as Cort`s response to the growing market of affordable classic acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars. The nylon stringers are enjoying sort of an expansion.
Cort AC7 is classically shaped short-scale model with a flat top and no cutaway. It is available in natural satin with black binding. Mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard with 19 frets and other classical appointments such as tuning pegs and classical bridge complete the spec of this 22-4/5" scale model. Cort CEC3 is a more modern twist on the classical guitar story. Concert shape with venetian cutaway, flat top and black satin finish really stands out from the crowd. Mahogany neck is paired with rosewood fingerboard with 19 frets and no inlays. Sound hole ceramic pickup is combined with Cort`s own CE304T preamp with on-board controls. Standard Series
Standard series is the corner stone of Cort`s acoustic guitar catalog. It is comprised of dreadnought and dreadnought cutaway models made both in acoustic and acoustic-electric versions. This years reinforcements for this line include two models, two twelve-stringers, AD810-12 and AD810-12E.
Cort AD810-12 is a fully acoustic Dreadnought model without a cutaway. Natural satin finish with black binding, black teardrop shaped pickguard and triple sound hole rosette increase the appeal of this model. Neck is made of mahogany and sports rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets and dot inlays. Full 25-3/5" scale and quality dovetail joint wrap up the specs. Cort AD810-12E is the acoustic-electric variant of the AD810-12 and is also a non-cutaway dreadnought model with natural satin finish as it`s only color option. AS Series
AS Series from Cort is absolutely based on the effort to achieve the ultimate tone in affordable acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars. It consists of dreadnought and jumbo models, as these are the loudest and most powerful body shapes available. Scalloped bracing and pro level of tone are promised to come with the models from this series. AS-M5 is the new model in the series.
Cort AS-M5 is a dreadnought cutaway model with ivoroid binding and flat top. It is only available in natural satin and has no pickguard to enhance the sound projection of the body. Mahogany neck has a dovetail joint and rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets and dot inlays. Fishman Ellipse Blend preamp is combined with a Matrix pickup placed within the body cavity. 25-1/3" scale and die cast tuners wrap it up for this model. Earth Series
Earth Series is offering dreadnought models made in the vein of some of the most successful instruments from the golden age of acoustic guitars. Vintage looks and vintage features bring vintage tone for the lovers of golden age guitars and their tone. X bracing and other classic appointments. Cort Earth1200 is a non-cutaway flat top dreadnought guitar. This acoustic-electric six stringer is available only in natural satin. No pickguards ans only a simple single circle rosette are featured on the top. Neck is made of mahogany and features a dovetail joint and a rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets and E1200 Vain inlays. Jade Series
Jade Series models part their ways with tradition from the very start as they feature slightly smaller bodies than usual. Also, fresh, modern looks and modern appointments make these guitars a good options for those who like the sound of acoustics, but don`t like their size. This series is reinforced with Jade1 model.
Cort Jade1 is a cutaway model with a concert shape and a body slightly smaller than standard. with it`s full length scale it is a great instruments for those who find regular acoustics too chunky. Mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, 20 frets and dot inlays are main features of this model. Since this is a fully acoustic model, there are no preamps, mics or pickups. Luce Series
Jumbos, dreadnoughts and parlors inspired by some of the best models from the golden age of acoustics are placed within the award winning Luce Series. Players who seek the vintage looks and tone will be very pleased with this series and it`s shape-wise versatility. L1200P is the new model for this series in 2012.
Cort L1200P is a non-cutaway parlor model coming from the Luce series. Natural satin color with white binding and a flat top with no pickguard completes the body specs. Neck is made of mahogany and features a rosewood fingerboard with 19 frets and custom inlays. This is an acoustic model, therefore there are no pickups, preamps or mics. MR Series
The MR Series from Cort acoustic department is in charge of models with exotic side and back woods, solid spruce tops and Fishman electronics. Great for players who like the spice of the exotic in their tone. All of the models are cutaway dreadnought acoustic-electrics. So are two novelties for this year, MR1200FX and MR710F-12.
Cort MR1200FX is a cutaway dreadnought model with a flat top and natural satin finish. White binding and lack of pickguard make the body look more elegant and make the curves stand out. NDX Series
Modern and aggressive cutaway design on NDX jumbo styled bodies is aiming primarily towards the younger players. NTL cutaway models are the only shape represented by this series and all models are acoustic-electric. This years reinforcement is NDX-CQ with a custom graphic designed by Stephen Jensen.
Cort NDX-CQ is an NTL cutaway model with a flat top and Florentine cutaway. It is available in black gloss with a custom graphic on top. White binding rounds off the body specs. SFX Series
As player`s demands grow over time, manufacturers must develop and adopt newer and newer solutions for their models. The SFX Series traits include arched backs, slim "V" shaped necks and extended cutaways. Modern features for a modern player. This years new model for this series are SFX-AB, SFX-DAO and SFX-FM.
