Busy time of the year brings us new models from Cort`s electric guitar department. Seven new models from three series are being introduced.
Cort`s electric guitar department has been very busy recently as they represent seven new models for 2012 issue of Cort catalog. These new models span across three series. Namely, reinforcements are assigned to KX, Sunset and Zenox series. KX series got KX5 FR-CQ and KX5-CQ. Sunset got Sunset I and Sunset II models. And the Zenox Series got new Z44, Z-custom 1 and Z Custom 2. Within these novelties there is something for every kind and type of player out there. KX series covers superstrat division, Zenox models are for LP fans and Sunset models are for players who like vintage tone nad feel of semi-hollow bodied guitars.
KX Series
Models from this series are a modern rendition of the superstrat theme in Cort`s catalog. some models even feature exotic woods with pickup palette ranging from motherbuckers to EMGs and Seymour Duncans. These powerful guitars are equipped either with double locking tremolos, either with tune-o-matic bridges with string-through construction. New models for this year include: KX5 FR-CQ and KX5-CQ.
Cort KX5 FR-CQ is a double cutaway model with a body made of basswood with black paint nad custom top graphics. Double locking bridge is paired with a locking nut for complete stability. Motherbucker pickups are in charge of the sound. Canadian hard maple neck has a bolt-on joint and a rosewood fingerboard with 24 large frets, pearl block inlays and 15-3/4" radius. Cort KX5-CQ is a fixed bridge twin brother of KX5-FR-CQ and it also has a basswood body with a black paint, gloss finish and custom graphic designed by Stephen Jensen. Motherbucker pickups with coil splitting ability are built onto this model as well. Maple neck has a bolted joint and a rosewood fingerboard with 24 frets, pearl block inlays and 15-3/4" radius. Sunset Series
Sunset Series and it`s models are oriented towards the players who revere the vintage looks and tone of semi-hollow bodied models. Both of the guitars which make up the Sunset roster are new models for 2012. Their names are Sunset I and Sunset II.
Cort Sunset I is a single cutaway model shaped after the legendary Les Paul model. Semi-hollow body construction and Bigsby vibrato bridge are the main feature of Sunset I. Body is made of mahogany with maple top. TV Jones humbucker pickups are placed in the bridge and neck positions. Mahogany neck has a set-in joint and rosewood fingerboard with 22 large frets. Cort Sunset II is a second model in this series and is also a semi-hollow bodied single cutaway models as Sunset I. Mahogany body is covered with maple top and paired with mahogany neck. Zenox Series
Cort Zenox Series is a line of single cutaway models which greatly resemble the Les Paul models. This series is made with long gigs in mind as all of the models have arm cuts on their contoured tops. Comfort and playability are top priorities for this series. New models for this year include: Z44, Z Custom 1 and Z Custom 2.
Cort Z44 is a single cutaway model with a fixed bridge and string-through construction. It is available in white and black options, both finished in gloss. EMG HZ and H4 humbuckers are in charge of the sound. Mahogany neck has a rosewood fingerboard with 22 large frets and "Z" inlay at the 12th fret. Cort Z Custom 1 is a part of the Custom line within the series and serves as a top model. It`s brown sunburst gloss finish is matched beautifully with the contoured quilted maple top. The body is made of mahogany and combined with a three piece mahogany neck. Seymour Duncan humbuckers are placed at the bridge and neck positions. Cort Z Custom 2 is the third and final novelty for the Zenox series. It starts off with a mahogany body and flamed maple top. Tune-o-matic bridge is combined with string-through construction. Pickup combo is classic EMG 81/85 humbuckers in bridge and neck positions. Mahogany neck is constructed out of 3 pieces and has a set-in joint. 22 large frets, die cast tuners and black nickel hardware complete the spec.
