Epi relaunches one of the most beautiful and most successful semi-holloww guitars of all time with the new limited Riviera Custom.
Back in the day, in 1960s, Epiphone`s hollow and semi hollow models could challenge every and any guitar on the market with their exceptional quality of build and the most remarkable tone and playability and they were on the same level as Gibsons. Dot, Sheraton and other Epi models shared their tonewoods, looks, and overall luxurious design and construction was shared with Gibson guitars. Also, these two brands shared the production lines. Today, the situation is a bit different, as Epiphone is no longer an independent brand. Since in 1957, it was purchased by Gibson. Ever since, Gibson has made it clear which brand name will be stamped on certain models. Traditional role for the Epiphone (since the purchase, that is) consists of the production of the affordable guitar and bass models based on the upscale Gibson models. This time, Epiphone revamps one of the most successful limited editions, the classy Riviera Custom P-93. This marvel is based on the original semi-hollow Riviera which was the main semi-hollow guitar for some of the most prominent players of the era.
Epiphone Limited Edition Riviera Custom P-93 is a double-cut six-stringer with super cool vintage design and semi-hollow construction. It comes with an all-maple body (arched top, back and sides are made of laminated maple) and set in mahogany neck. Neck is fit with a slim taper D profile and covered with a 22-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Set of three Epiphone`s P-90s is paired with a standard Gibson/Epi controls unit. Bridge section behind them is made up of a standard tune-o-matic bridge, Bigsby vibrato and a trapezoid tailpiece.
