Gibson USA is introducing a brand new Frank Zappa Roxy SG, while the Custom department launches Joe Walsh 1960 Les Paul.
This time Gibson USA and Gibson Custom pay tribute to two genius players, two legends and true guitar heroes from 1960s and 1970s. Gibson USA model is dedicated to late Frank Zappa and his early days. Frank Zappa Roxy SG looks, feels and sounds just like Frank`s super-modded original. Gibson USA luthiers have done their homework and made another stunning replica. Gibson Custom honors Joe Walsh with a replica of his own 1960 Les Paul. Despite being very expensive, it brings a down-to-earth feeling of a player`s guitar, opposing the museum exhibition pieces made by some of the manufacturers in this price category. Top variant of the Joe Walsh 1960 Les Paul replicates Joe`s original LP down to every scratch, dent and bump with meticulous precision.
Gibson USA Frank Zappa Roxy SG is a solid, double-cut guitar with heavy modifications in order to reach the famous tone and versatility of the original Frank Zappa SG from the early days of his career. It comes with a classic SG body made of mahogany. This six-stringed flat-top axe is available only in classic Heritage Cherry color scheme with nickel hardware and nitrocellulose finish. Tune-o-matic bridge and vibrola bar are backed by a trapezoid tailpiece and fronted by a pair of Classic '57 humbuckers. Coil-split and phase switches are added to the classic SG controls unit. '60s contoured mahogany neck is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. Gibson USA has put a price tag of $3,749 on this extraordinary axe. Gibson Custom Joe Walsh 1960 Les Paul is one of the most expensive and most luxurious LPs ever made. This model is made as the most accurate replica of Joe`s original 1960 Les Paul currently possible. There are three options available fro Joe Walsh Les Paul. The most Expensive one costs $17,645 and it comes in Tangerine Burst with all the bumps and dents identical to ones on Joe`s guitar. It is also signed. Tangerine Burst Aged variant costs $14,115 and Tangerine Burst with VOS treatment costs $10,351. Mahogany body is solid and it`s topped with a two-piece flamed maple top. Custom Buckers sit on top and are backed up by Gibson`s classic two-piece bridge combo. Set in mahogany neck is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
