Ovation brings eleven brand new acoustic-electric guitars, two signatures, two limited edition models and seven regular models.
Ovation comes forth with eleven brand new models for their 2012 edition of catalog. This double-digit number of novelties results in the possibility to find something for virtually every player around the world. There are Balladeers, Celebrities, Signatures, Limiteds, and even two nylon-stringers. They all feature composite material bowls and Ovation electronics. Ovation YM63 Nylon String and Ovation YM68 Steel String are Yngwie Malmsteen signature models. Nylon string model is offered in white, and steel string model in red. They both feature cedar tops with "f" holes. Ovation OCP-1K under-saddle pickup and Ovation Viper 3-band preamp make up the electronics department. Ovation CC49S-VA is a novelty placed in the Celebrity Series. It`s the first multi-sound hole Celebrity ever made. CC49 features a deep contour bowl in combination with a solid spruce top. Sound holes are featured on both the bass and treble side and have solid hardwood epaulettes. 22 fret rosewood fingerboard sits upon the nato wood neck. Ovation 1771VL-1 is a brand new Standard Balladeer and it is equipped with a vintage Lyrachord style bowl. This guitar is lightweight and very responsive. The top of the guitar is made of solid spruce and bound in white. Instead of classic multiple sound holes, this Balladeer features one central with an elegant rosette. 1771VL-1 has COP-1K pickup and famous Stereo FET preamp with volume and tone control knobs placed on the side of the guitar. Ovation 1627LTD-4 is the first of two Limited Edition models for 2012 edition of Ovation catalog. It has a shallow contour and a solid spruce top. 20 fret rosewood fingerboard sits on top of the five piece mahogany/maple neck. Ovation High Output pickup is combined with side-mounted volume and tone knobs Only fifty of these will be produced and signed by Glenn Campbell. Ovation 1778TX-4CS comes from the Elite T Series and brings mid-depth bowl in combination with a solid cedar top. Standard 25-1/4" scale is paired with a mahogany neck which features 22 fret rosewood fingerboard. sound holes are placed only on the bass side of the guitar. Ovation 1617ALE-1 is the second 2012 Limited Edition model from Ovation. It`s main feature is the outstanding Adirondack spruce top. Wit only 50 copies to be made and premium features, this model will be sold out in a blink of an eye. Ovation 1773AX-4 is the second 2012 novelty, besides YM63, to feature nylon strings. It also has a slimmer neck contour than standard classic guitars to provide a compromise for steel string players who want to play classic guitar. Mid depth bowl is combined with solid cedar top and a central sound hole. Ovation electronics, mahogany and maple neck and 26-3/16" scale complete the specs. Ovation CC29S-4C comes from Celebrity Series and it is the first model ever from this series to feature a contoured bowl. This bowl design was exclusively offered with upscale models, but with CC29S-4C it becomes available even on budget friendly models. Cedar top, rosewood bridge and rosewood fingerboard complete the picture. Electronics are made by Ovation and fingerboard has 20 frets.
