Ten hot new models are being introduced into the Special Editions series of Schecter catalog. Six-stringers, seven-stringers, active, passive, name it, this series got it.
Schecter`s Special Edition series is a unique testing ground for Schecter`s management and luthiers. This is where they can test the pulse of the market and get the best feedback on their new ideas. For 2013, Schecter has prepared a total of ten new Special Edition series models. A firework of new and exciting features, concepts and ideas is being displayed through these ten models. They are: Blackjack SLS V-7, Blackjack SLS V-7 FR, Blackjack ATX Solo 7, Hellraiser 006 FR, Hellraiser 007, C-1 FR Special Edition, Ultra XII, Hellraiser C-1 FR STGB, Syn Custom Purple/Green and Devil Invader Special Edition. Most of these models are being subject to pickups experimentation and trial. Most notable combos include EMG 81/89, Seymour Duncan Active Blackouts and Seymour Duncan Invaders. Seven-string models come with either seven-string Blackouts, or EMG 707 humbuckers.
Schecter Blackjack SLS V-7 is the first of ten models introduced into this series and it`s purpose is to test the market for the seven-stringed V guitars. It comes with a solid body made of mahogany back and flame maple top. It is paired with a set-in three-piece maple neck. Blackouts for seven-string axes are installed on this one. They`re not splittable, as opposed to their six-string counterparts. Tune-o-matic bridge, 24-fret ebony fingerboard and Grover tuners wrap the specs list. Schecter Blackjack SLS V-7 FR is the same guitar as the previous one, with the exception of the Floyd Rose bridge. V-shaped body is made of mahogany back and flame maple top. It is finished in gloss and equipped with an ultra access neck joint. Neck is made of three pieces of maple and it features a 24-fret fingerboard on it`s top. Fingerboard is made of ebony and it features offset dot inlays. Seven-string Blackouts and Grover tuners wrap this model. Schecter Blackjact ATX Solo 7 is a Les Paul-shaped seven-stringer introduced by Schecter for 2013. It comes with a carved mahogany body with aged creme binding and satin black color scheme. Black chrome hardware fits this shred machine perfectly. Seven-string Blackouts are installed on this one. Behind them, tune-o-matic bridge with string-through construction makes up the bridge section. Maple neck is topped with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard. Schecter Hellraiser 006 FR is one very special Hellraiser. It comes with shortened horns and modified pickups compartment. Classic Mahogany/quilt maple body is topped with a Floyd Rose bridge and EMG 81/89 combo. Pickups can be split with push/pull switches installed onto the volume knobs. Neck is made of three pieces of mahogany and it features a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard on top. Grover tuners, 25-1/2" scale and ultra access neck joint complete this six-stringer. Schecter Hellraiser 007 is the seven-string variant of the 006 model. Also, instead of a Floyd Rose bridge, this one features a tune-o-matic with string-through construction. Solid and double-cut body is made of mahogany back with quilt maple top. Top is carved, bound in abalone and finished in gloss, like a true Hellraiser. Pickups on this one are active EMG 707 pickups. These can also be split into single-coils via the push-pull switch technology. Set in mahogany neck is topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. Schecter C-1 FR Special Edition is a white-clad beast with passive electronics. It features a pair of Seymour Duncan`s Invaders, being the first of three models in the current lineup to feature these mighty 'buckers. Body is a standard one, it`s solid, double-cut and made of mahogany back with carved mahogany top. Original Floyd Rose bridge gives the ultimate tuning stability. Schecter Ultra XII is the only representative of the Ultra series in this Special Edition lineup. It comes with a set of three Duncan Designed FG-101 humbuckers. These come with gold casings, master volume, master tone and three on/off slide switches. Solid double-cut body is made of mahogany and it`s paired with a three-piece mahogany neck. 22-fret fingerboard is made of rosewood and it`s marked with pearl block inlays. Schecter Hellraiser C-1 FR STGB is a standard Hellraiser guitar made of solid mahogany back with carved quilt maple top. It`s paired with a set in mahogany neck. Pickups on this green monster are EMG 81 in the bridge and 89 in the neck. 89 replaces the 85 for the sakes of coil splitting function, which is becoming hugely popular feature. Fingerboard on this model is standard Hellraiser, it is made of rosewood and it features 24 extra jumbo frets with Abalone Gothic Cross inlays. Schecter Devil Invader Special Edition is a simple, black-clad axe with six-string construction and passive electronics. It features the notorious Invaders in six-string variant installed in front of a tune-o-matic bridge with string-through construction. These Invaders can also be split with a sprinkle of push/pull magic. Set in mahogany neck is topped with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard. Grover tuners are installed on the headstock. Schecter Syn Custom Purple/Green is another Synyster Gates signature model. This one belongs to the Custom tier and it rocks the unusual purple body color decorated with green stripes. Original Floyd Rose bridge is a standard feature on upscale Synyster models and it`s found on this one, as well. Custom Invaders from Seymour Duncan are installed in the front. three-piece mahogany neck of this Avenger-shaped axe is topped with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard. 25-1/2" scale, Grover tuners and custom fingerboard inlays wrap it up for this model.
