SG Diablo Premium Plus reinforces the SG lines in Gibson USA catalog, bringing some outstanding visual features. Carved top with several transparent color options looks mind blowing.
SG model dates back to 1961 and it was made as the successor to the Les Paul model, which was slowly starting to fade against the competitive and modern Fender models. The SG featured Gibson`s own rendition of this new concept, which included flat tops, solid colors, lighter construction, flat pickguards, as opposed to the elevated ones on Les Pauls. But, it kept Gibson`s traditional set-in neck joint, active humbuckers and 22 fret fingerboards. It quickly became an icon with the guitarists of the emerging hard rock scene. Heavy sound, lightweight construction, slim neck and devil horns cutaway were the ultimate combo back in the day. Not much has changed over the decades, as SG remains of the heaviest sounding guitars and also one of the best looking. Brand new SG Diablo Premium Plus brings the carved figured maple tops to the game and gives this icon all the class and elegance reserved for the Les Paul.
