At Frankfurt 2012 Musikmesse Canada-based manufacturer Dingwall came with a brand new Super P series of electric bass guitars.
After the winter NAMM, Frankfurt Musikmesse is the second most important place to show new guitars and basses. Dingwall Guitars have come with a brand new Super P series which currently consists of Super P 4 and Super P 5 models. This Canada-based manufacturer operates with a permanent staff of four, but their fame goes world wide. Their catalog is split into two main categories, the electric guitar and electric bass section. Bass department is a lot larger as it features several very successful series. The main traits of Dingwall basses are fanned frets and wild design.
Dingwall Super P 4 is a solid bodied bass guitar with a double cutaway and flat top. There are no bindings or top woods on this model as it aims to capture the simplicity and straightforward approach of it`s role model, the iconic P bass. The bridge on this model is made by Hipshot and it comes with four saddles with chrome plating. Pickups department features one P-pickup in the middle position with master tone and volume control knobs. Dingwall Super P 5 is an extended range variant of the Super P 4 and it features the same basic specs. Both models share the solid double cutaway body with flat top and gloss finish. Bridge is also made by Hipshot and designed by Dingwall. Tuning machines come from Hipshot, as well. Pickup department is equipped with one P pickup in the middle position. It is controlled through a simple setup of master volume and master tone knobs. The multi-laminated neck is equipped with fast and sleek contour and topped with a maple fingerboard. 22 fanned Novax frets and black dot inlays complete the fingerboard.
