Gibson Custom Tak Matsumoto Doublecut Custom Ebony is a solid guitar with double cutaway body made of a single piece of mahogany. It is topped with maple cap. Tune-o-matic bridge and stoptail bar comprise the bridge section with both being plated in gold. Burstbuckers are installed in both the bridge and neck positions and feature a slightly reduced controls unit. There`s only one tone knob, while each pickup has an independent volume control. Three-way toggle is still used as the pickups switch. Mahogany neck has Tak Matsumoto contour in the back and is topped with a richlite fingerboard. 22 frets, block markers, traditional Gibson`s 12" radius and 1-11/16" corian nut make up the fingerboard specs.
