Traveler Guitars are famous for their effort to produce the ultimate guitar for the road and roaming rockers. Unorthodox body shapes and construction solutions in combination with quality craftsmanship and enthusiasm guarantee for great instruments. This time they stepped closer to the goal with brand new Traveler Speedster Hot Rod. The shape of this model and it`s striking red paint are already familiar from the original Speedster introduced a while ago. This time around, Speedster is equipped with a hot double rail pickup and an on-board amp with distortion which can be plugged in the earphones for the ultimate privacy and discretion.
Speedster Hot Rod starts off with maple body and neck-through construction. The body is solid, flat top and features tuners cavities in front of the chrome plated hardtail bridge. The reason for this is that the strings are mounted at the nut and tuned below the body to save space and decrease length. The amplification of this model is entrusted to one double rail humbucker placed in front of the bridge in a slanted position. The controls for this pickup consist of master volume and tone knobs. Speedster Hot Rod comes in hot rod red color option with a cool looking tear-drop shaped arm rest.
Special feature of this model is it`s on-board amp which has a headphone jack. Distortion option is also added to this amp, thus enabling the player to play his favorite tunes when ever and where ever. When the discretion and silence are paramounts, the headphone jack comes in very handy as it transfers the entire output to the headphones.
Neck is made of maple and runs through the body to enable maximum possible sustain for this model. This is a headless neck, a measure taken in order to reduce the size and weight. Fingerboard is made of ebonized rosewood and features 22 medium frets with dot inlays. The scale is 24-3/4" long and the nut is 1.75" wide. Other features include: chrome plated hardware, close geared tuners and tear-drop shaped arm rest.
