A brand new quarter-century RG and three models from Sage series of beginner`s acoustic guitars are being introduce by Ibanez.
Ibanez is a brand known for the fantastic quality and versatility of it`s models. Their catalog ranges from full shred metal axes to acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars. Some of their models and series have attained legendary status and cult following, while the others provide the players with some of the best options in their respective categories and price ranges. This time around Ibanez updates the catalog with one electric and three acoustic guitars. The second RG in 25th anniversary series is finally here, it`s name is RG2XXV. And the acoustics come from the Sage series which is oriented towards the beginners. SGT220, SGT120 and SGE220 are models from Sage series. A mix of tradition and innovation is brought in both segments.
Ibanez SGT220 is a non-cutaway dreadnought guitar from the Sage series which serves as a beginner`s series of acoustic guitars. This model features mahogany back and side panels with spruce top. Of course, they are all laminated, but give great sound for the price range this guitar is in. Bridge is made of rosewood and electronics section only has an on-board tuner. Neck is made of mahogany and it comes with a standard dovetail joint. Rosewood fingerboard has 20 frets, dot inlays, 12" radius and 1.69" ivorex nut. Ibanez SGT120 also comes from the Sage series and it is a non-cutaway dreadnought. Vintage sunburst is the only color option for this guitar and it is complemented with chrome hardware. Also, on the aesthetic side, there is a big tortoise shell pickguard contrasting the bright part of the glossy sunburst color scheme. Mahogany is used for back and side panels and the spruce is used for the top. Rosewood bridge is installed upon the top panel and sound hole features a double circle rosette. Ibanez SGE220 is the only acoustic-electric guitar this time and it comes with an Ibanez magnetic pickup mounted on the sound hole. It is accompanied by an Ibanez AEQ220MT preamp. Other than that, it is a standard sage model with non-cutaway dreadnought body made of mahogany back and sides with spruce top. Bridge is made of rosewood and it comes with plastic string saddle. Neck is made of mahogany and it is topped with a rosewood fingerboard. 20 frets, block inlays, 12" radius and 1.69" wide ivorex II string nut are featured on it. Ibanez RG2XXV is the second model is RG25th Anniversary series and it comes with all the features which launched the RG into heavy metal stratosphere. Classic double cutaway body made of basswood is still here, and it`s paired with a bolted neck made of three pieces of maple. Edge zero bridge is installed upon the body and it is paired with a locking nut on the opposite side of the 25-1/2" scale. Infinity pickups are featured in the electronics compartment and the controls unit is made up of master volume, master tone and five-position blade switch.
