Fender`s guitars have largely modeled and shaped music we know and love today. Their contribution is so large that it can not be measured or estimated easily. Throughout the 1950s and ever since, Teles, Strats, Jazzmasters, Precisions, Jazz Basses and other Fender models have inspired, influenced and made guitarists all around the world. Some of them played in their garage, some played at local pubs. Some made it to the international scene, some became famous world-wide and some created history. One of the Fender players who created history is Ritchie Blackmore with Deep Purple and his faithful Strats. One of those Strats was used to write and record probably the most recognizable riff in modern music. Yes, the Smoke on the Water, for which the urban legends say became so popular, that it eventually became forbidden to play in music stores. Fender Custom Shop now unveils Ritchie Blackmore Tribute guitar in honor of both Ritchie and the legendary riff.
Fender Custom Shop Ritchie Blackmore Tribute is so easy to mistake for Ritchie`s original guitar, that when put side by side, one might pick up the wrong one and never ever notice. It has a two-piece alder body and a bolted maple neck. Body is flat on the top and covered with a plastic pickguard. Vintage tremolo is plated in chrome adn fronted by a set of three hand-wound single-coil pickups, which give completely faithful tone. Standard set of knobs and a three-position blade switch comprise the controls unit. Neck is equipped with Ritchie`s custom contour and topped with a 21-fret maple fingerboard.
