New G-5A VG Strat is being unveiled just before the 2013 NAMM Show. It fuses Fender`s American Standard Strat with Roland`s advanced electronics to create one of the most advanced axes of today.
Roland and Fender join forces once more to bring the guitar of future today. It is named the G-5A VG Stratocaster. Fender has donated the iconic American Standard Strat for this series and Roland provides the ultra modern COSM electronics system. Basically, what it does, it gives the player a full stack of guitars within one. Tones of numerous legendary Fender models can be emulated at a drop of the hat, plus tones of steel-stringed, nylon-stringed, 12-stringed guitars, as well as the sitar. Various Telecaster and Stratocaster model patches are stored in the COSM system memory and can be activated effortlessly. Also, this system can tune and retune the guitar according to the wishes and needs of the player. Pickup switch and mode knob are the main controls of this system and in addition to the standard three single coils, this Strat has an additional pickup just in front of the bridge. Regular pickups on this model are Custom Shop '50s Strat single coils in all three positions.
Roland G-5A VG Stratocaster comes with a regular Stratocaster body with double cutaway, flat top and bolt-on neck joint. It is made of alder in it`s entirety and traditionally features no top wood covers. Body of this model, though flat on top, is contoured in the back for the improved comfort of playing. Through the above mentioned bolt-on neck, this body is paired with a maple neck. Neck is modern and it`s equipped with the regular C contour, standard on contemporary Strats. On it`s top Fender installs a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. Frets are medium jumbo-sized and decorated with dot inlays. Also, synthetic bone nut is 1.685" wide and the radius measures 9.50".
