2012 updates of the Schecter catalog continue with an Electric/Acoustic series of fully hollow-bodied Solo 6 guitars.
Over at Schecter Guitars there is no rest, as 2012 edition of catalog is being constantly updated. This time, the novelties are models from newly established Electric/Acoustic Collection. It is a line of fully hollow bodied electric guitars. These models also feature piezo pickup/preamp systems. The line currently consists of three models: Hellraiser Solo 6 E/A, Hellraiser Solo 6 E/A Left Handed and Custom Solo 6 E/A. These guitars pack tremendous punch with regular sets of active humbucking pickups, but also offer true acoustic performance with piezo systems built into Fishman bridges. These single cutaway hollow bodies give new meaning to the term "all-round guitar".
Schecter Hellraiser Solo 6 E/A and Schecter Hellraiser Solo 6 E/A Left Handed come with a mahogany body and a quilted maple top. The bodies are fully hollow and they feature Hellraiser series insignia which include abalone binding and black cherry color with gloss finish. The most prominent feature on these guitars is the unique blend of regular metal-oriented pickup combos with acoustic piezo pickup/preamp setups. Hellraiser Solo 6 E/A and Hellraiser Solo 6 E/A Left Handed feature EMG81/89 combos of regular pickups. Master volume, master tone and a three-way toggle switch control EMGs and master volume, master tone and a three-way mini switch control piezos. Three piece mahogany necks have ultra access cutaways and set-in joints. Rosewood fingerboards are equipped with 24 extra jumbo frets and abalone Gothic inlays. Schecter Custom Solo 6 E/A comes with a fully hollow single cutaway body made of mahogany back and sides and flamed maple top. This models features the same Fishman bridge with piezo pickup/preamp combo. Seymour Duncan active humbuckers are chosen for Custom instead of EMGs. Also, the controls department is identical. The neck is made of three pieces of mahogany with a set-in joint and ultra access cutaway. The fingerboard is made of ebony and it sports 22 medium sized frets with mother of pearl split crown inlays. The scale is shorter than on the Hellraiser variants, and it measures 24-3/4" in length.
