Schecter Guitar Research is unveiling a new C series of solid bodied electric basses. Four and five string instruments in Deluxe and Custom divisions.
2012 catalog from Schecter brings a lot of new stuff in all areas. There are new guitars, new acoustics and new basses. There`s a ton of new stuff. Among all bass department novelties, C series basses stand out with their modern design, aggressive cutaways and mighty Schecter and EMG pickups. These new models include: C-4 Custom, C-4 Custom Left Handed, C-5 Custom, C-5 Custom Left Handed, C-4 Deluxe, C-4 Deluxe Left Handed, C-5 Deluxe and C-5 Deluxe Left Handed. They are all equipped with double cutaway bodies, 24 frets, humbucker/single pickup combos and black chrome hardware.
Schecter C-4 Deluxe and Schecter C-4 Deluxe Left Handed represent the basic offer from the C series. They come with solid double cutaway bodies made of basswood. all of the hardware components on these four-stringers are made by Schecter and applied in several other series as well. Maple made neck has a bolt-on joint and rosewood fingerboard. 24 extra jumbo frets, offset dots and black chrome hardware complete the spec. Schecter C-5 Deluxe and Schecter C-5 Deluxe Left Handed are extended range versions of the basic C-4 models. However, they share a lot of features with them. Bodies are still made of basswood and paired with maple necks. Hardware is made by Schecter and offered in black chrome plating. Necks are bolted and equipped with 24 fret rosewood fingerboards. 35" scales, common for Schecter five and six string basses complete the specs. Schecter C-4 Custom and Schecter C-4 Custom Left Handed represent the luxurious four string options for C series. Although, aesthetically very similar to C Deluxe basses, these have upgraded materials and hardware. Bodies are now made of ash and combined with maple/walnut necks. Bridges and tuners are still Schecter, but pickups now come from EMG together with EMG equalizers. Rosewood is a standard fingerboard material for this series, as well as 24 extra jumbo frets with offset dots. Modern, double cutaway ash bodies are paired with maple/walnut necks and offered with satin color finishes. Hardware is provided partly by Schecter, bridge and tuners, and partly by EMG, pickups and equalizers. Rosewood fingerboards can be found on these models as well, with standard 24 extra jumbo frets and offset dot inlays.
