Schecter unveiled sixteen new signature models across six series. Models range from Robin Zander hollowbodies to Synyster Gaes and Jeff Loomis extreme metal axes.
Schecter has updated their signature portion of the catalog with sixteen brand new models in six series. Shaun Morgan is a completely new series and it`s currently only models are Shaun Morgan and Shaun Morgan Left Handed models. Robin Zander is the second new artist with Robin Zander signature model. Robert Smith`s series got updated with Ultra Cure III. Synyster Gates Custom-S and Synyster Gates Custom-S Left Handed are reinforcing the Synyster Gates lineup. Zacky Vengeance line received four new models: Zacky Vengeance 6661, Zacky Vengeance 6661 Left Handed, Zacky Vengeance Custom Reissue and Zacky Vengeance Custom Reissue Left Handed. And, finally, Jeff Loomis Series received six new axes: JLV-7 NT, JLV-7 NT Left Handed, JLV-7 FR, JLV-7 FR Left Handed, JLV-6 FR and Jeff Loomis-6 FR.
Schecter Shaun Morgan and Schecter Shaun Morgan Left Handed are the first two models for this article and they come with a Jazzmaster reversed and Jazzmaster forms, respectively. However, they do differ from it with their pronounced cutaway horns. These guitars are signature models for the Seether`s singer/rhythm guitarist, Shaun Morgan and they feature mahogany made bodies in pair with maple necks. Tune-o-matic bridges are put together with stoptail bars and plated with chrome. The pickup compartment on both models is made up of a Duncan Designed HB-102B humbucker in the bridge position. Maple necks have bolted joints and rosewood fingerboards with 22 extra jumbo frets and MOP Cog inlays. Cheap Trick`s legendary frontman Robin Zander has also got a Schecter signature model. It is Schecter Robin Zander signature model in white color with gold plating and creme bindings. A very beautiful guitar with elegant and elaborately decorated hardware. The body is made entirely of maple with a three-piece mahogany neck. The pickups on this model are Seymour Duncan Phat Cat SPH-90 single coil pickups which are made in the vein of Gibson`s P-90. Fingerboard is made of ebony and equipped with 22 medium sized frets and mother-of-pearl stars inlays across them. Perhaps the most beautiful part of this model is tune-o-matic roller bridge with Bigsby B-70 Vibrato tailpiece and gold plating. Robert Smith, the frontman, singer and guitarist of English band The Cure already had a prominent signature series running in the Schecter catalog, but for this year brand new Schecter Ultra Cure-VI is hitting the stage. It comes in a familiar Ultra shape with a mahogany body and a flat top. Large two-part pickguard is painted black as the rest of the body and contains the controls for three Seymour Duncan SJAG-1 single coils. The controls consist of master volume, master tone and an on/off slide switch for each pickup. Maple neck also has a male fingerboard with 24 extra jumbo frets and black pearl stars and moons inlays. The bridge is a trusty old tune-o-matic with a stoptail combo. This model has a huge 30" scale. Schecter Synyster Gates Custom-S and Schecter Synyster Gates Custom-S Left Handed are additions for Schecter`s probably most successful signature line. A7X`s lead guitarist has a wide variety of models named after him in the Schecter catalog. These models come with Floyd Rose locking bridges, Seymour Duncan passive Invaders in the bridge and Sustainiac pickups in the neck positions. Sustainiac pickups are both pickups and sustain drivers. They can function in pickup, mixed and sustain modes with a turn of an on-board mini-switch. Standard three-piece mahogany necks have set-in joints and ultra access cutaways. Ebony fingerboards are equipped with 24 extra jumbo frets and custom Synyster inlays with Death Bat at the 12th fret. Zacky Vengeance, the rhythm half of A7X guitar duo also has a successful and long running line of signature models within the Schecter catalog. 2012 brought novelties in shape of Schecter Zacky Vengeance 6661 and Schecter Zacky Vengeance 6661 Left Handed. These two are heavily inspired by the SG, a cult model from Gibson. However, these Zacky`s models have solid mahogany bodies with moahogany necks with flat tops which have no binding. Seymour Duncan Custom JB active humbuckers are placed in th bridge and neck positions of both models. Tune-o-matic bridge and the lack of ultra access tell that these are rhythm oriented guitars. Schecter Zacky Vengeance Custom Reissue and Schecter Zacky Vengeance Custom Reissue Left Handed are reviving the custom model of Zacky`s series. They are also brand new models with the aim to improve the line`s positions within the catalog. They come with mahogany bodies, tune-o-matic bridges with stoptail bars, Seymour Duncan JB active humbuckers and mahogany necks. The story is wrapped with rosewood fingerboard with 22 extra jumbo frets and MOP split crown inlays. Jeff Loomis signature models lineup has received the most attention and six new models. The expanded line now has two body shapes, the standard Soloist and V shape. Schecter JLV-7 NT and Schecter JLV-7 NT Left Handed are basic models of the new V section. Jeff, known for his work with Nevermore and frequent utilization of extended range guitars created these models together with Schecter`s luthiers. Seven strings, tune-o-matic bridges, string-through construction, ash bodies and maple necks with maple fingerboards are the core specs of these models. 24 extra jumbo frets, metal cross inlays and EMG 707 extended range active humbuckers bring these axes to an amazing level. Schecter JLV-7 FR and Schecter JLV-7 FR Left Handed models represent the same specs as non-tremolo models, but with the addition of Floyd Rose 1000 bridges and locking string nuts. Other than that, the situation remains pretty much the same. Solid, V shaped ash body is paired with a maple neck made of three pieces of wood. The same EMG 707 active humbucker combo is manipulated through master volume knob and a three-way toggle switch. Maple fingerboards are sporting standard 24 extra jumbo frets and metal cross inlays. Schecter JLV-6 FR is a six string V model in Jeff Loomis line of signature models and it is available only in the right handed variant. The most prominent features include Floyd Rose bridge, 24 extra jumbo frets and EMG 81/85 active humbucker combo. The body is made of ash, which is te standard for this line and has a flat top with no binding or pickguards. The neck is made of three pieces of maple and has a set-in joint with the ultra access. Schecter Jeff Loomis-6 FR is the sixth and final update for the Jeff Loomis signature line. It comes in the standard soloist shape, a common platform for many guitar series within the Schecter catalog. It comes with a usual solid, double cutaway ash body in combination with a three-piece maple neck. The bridge department is occupied by Floyd Rose 1000 series bridge with a locking string nut. Pickups on this model are active EMG 81/85 humbuckers. With the maple fingerboard with 24 extra jumbo frets and metal cross inlays, thin neck contour and ultra access cutaway, playability is at outstanding level.
