Schecter has prepared a whole new metal oriented series of models in their most prominent shapes. The Blackjack SLS takes it a step further up the scale.
Schecter Guitar Research brings a brand new series for 2012. Blackjack models have been upgraded with SLS treatment which includes ultra thin necks finished in satin for super fast play. The second most prominent feature of the series is a Sustainiac passive neck humbucker on two six-string models. Besides the pickup choice between active Symour Duncan Blackout and passive Seymour Duncan combo of Full Shred in the bridge and Jazz Passive in the neck position, other appointments are regular and can be found on other also metal oriented upper class series from Schecter. Only passive pickup combos have coil splitting function. Ultra access cutaways, Floyd Rose 1000 Series and Tune-o-matic with string-through bridges and 24 extra jumbo frets. The first and basic model of the line is Schecter Blackjack SLS C-1 with six strings and tune-o-matic bridge with string-through construction. It comes with a double cutaway, mahogany back and carved flamed maple top. Satin black and see-thru blue burst are the only color options. Pickup department can vary according to each player. There is a choice between active and passive setup. Active combo is Seymour Duncan Blackout and passive is Seymour Duncan Full Shred in the bridge with Jazz Passive in the neck. Schecter Blackjack SLS C-1 FR is a Floyd Rose equipped variant of SLS C-1 and with it`s Floyd Rose 1000 bridge it is a serious contender for every player who wants a high quality metal axe with double locking bridge and reasonable price. Double cutaway solid mahogany body with carved flame maple top is available in satin black and see-thru blue burst. Active Blackouts versus passive Full Shred and Jazz choice is available for this model too. Ultra thin maple neck sports an ebony fingerboard with 24 extra jumbo frets and a locking nut. Schecter Blackjack SLS Solo 6 is an LP shaped model of the series and it is also equipped with all of the standard features of the SLS line. Not often does one see a single cutaway model with 24 extra jumbo frets skull inlays and aggressive aesthetic appointments of the Blackjack series. Solid mahogany body with flamed maple top is avaiable only in satin black and see-thru blue burst. Tune-o-matic bridge has a stoptail bar and pickup combo can be either active or passive. It depends on the player`s choice. Both combos, however, are made up of Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups. Schecter Blackjack SLS Solo 6 FR is a Floyd rose version os SLS Solo-6. It comes with all other options anc choices same as the fixed bridge model. LP inspired design brings a solid mahogany body with a carved flamed maple top in satin black finish and black binding. Floyd Rose bridge comes from 1000 series and is paired with a locking string nut. Active Seymour Duncan Blackout and passive Full Shred with Jazz Passive are the options from which to choose. That adds up for one mean and lean single cutaway guitar ready to rip and tear at the flick of the pick. Body is made of solid mahogany with a carved flamed maple top and black binding. Schecter Blackjack SLS C-7 is a point where SLS line crosses the boundaries to extreme sound and construction solutions due to the extended range of the fingerboard. This is one of the most extreme seven-stringers ever made by Schecter. It starts off with a solid double cutaway mahogany body and carved flamed maple top. Tune-o-matic bridge has seven string saddles and this one is the last to feature a choice of passive and active pickup combo. Eight string version only has active Blackouts. Eight strings, roaring active blackout pickups and hipshot bridge with eight saddles and string-through construction make up for one hell of a down tuned beast. Realms of extreme metal are unlocked in full with this mahogany back and flamed maple top solid guitar. Two volume knobs, master tone and three-position blade manipulate this gigantic pickups. Schecter Blackjack SLS C-1 S is a special model of the line with it`s Sustainiac neck pickup. It has a similar function to Fernandes Sustainer. The other pickup on this model is a passive Seymour Duncan Full Shred humbucker in the bridge position. Controls are made up of two volumes with push-pull function, three position blade switch and two more mini-switches. Tune-o-matic bridge is paired with string-through-body construction. Schecter Blackjack SLS C-1 FR-S is the last model of the series and is also a Floyd Rose equipped version of SLS C-1 S. This six-stringer has a Sustainiac pickup in the neck position. Other than Floyd Rose and locking string nut, all other features match those of SLS C-1 S. The mahogany body with a double cutawy and flamed maple top.
