Schecter Guitar Research was one of the busiest brands past few months cooking up a catalog for 2012. And, here are some of new models. Omen Series got 2012 and Active models. 2012 models are Omen-6 2012, Omen-6 2012 Left Handed, Omen-7 2012, Omen-7 2012 Left Handed, Omen-8 2012, Omen-8 2012 Left Handed, Omen Solo-6 2012, Omen Solo-6 2012 and Omen Solo-6 2012 Left Handed. Omen Active models are Omen Active-6, Omen Active-6 Left Handed, Omen Active-7 and Omen Active FR. These models breathe a new life in Omen lines and are possible game-changers in the budget oriented range of metal axes. Special Edition Blackjack ATX Solo 7 reinforced the Blackjack line.
Schecter Omen-6 2012 is this year`s version of Omen series basic model, a six stringer with a standard double cutaway shape. The body is made of basswood and features a bound and carved top. Black, vintage white and walnut satin are colors available for this model. Black and white are finished in gloss. Schecter`s own Diamond Plus passive humbuckers are placed at the bridge and neck positions along with a simple controls setup which includes master volume, master tone and a three-way toggle switch. 24 extra jumbo frets on the rosewood fingerboard complete the spec. Schecter Omen-7 2012 is an extended range version of the basic model and shares a lot of features with it. It is made primarily for metal players who are into bands with down-tuned guitars. The pickup combo on this one is Schecter Diamond Plus passive humbuckers as well. The body is made of basswood and equipped with line`s standard carved and bound top with Black, vintage white and walnut satin color options. Tune-o-matic bridge with string-through construction, maple neck, 24 extra jumbo frets and 26-1/2" scale wrap the spec up. Schecter Omen-8 2012 is the most extreme model of the series with it`s eight strings and Diamond Plus passive pickups combo. Majority of the features on this model are common with other Omen models, but some had to be made especially for this one. For example, there is a Schecter CTM-8 bridge with string-through construction, instead of a standard tune-o-matic. Special model of Diamond Plus pickups for extended range models is used on Omen-8 2012. Other than that, carved top basswood body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard and 24 extra jumbo frets with semi-gothic inlays fit the series spec. Schecter Omen Solo-6 2012 is the single cutaway model of the series and it differs slightly in construction with a shorter scale of 24-3/4 inches. Other then that, Omen Solo-6 fits the series spec. Body is made of basswood and carved on the top to achieve a sense of resemblance to other models of the line. Tune-o-matic bridge with string-through construction also matches series standards. Diamond Plus passive pickups, simple controls, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with 24 extra jumbo frets wrap it up for this model. Schecter Omen Active-6 is a basic model of the Active sub-division of the Omen series. This sub-division is in charge of offering Omen models with active pickups and moderate pricing policy of the series. There are four models currently with more expected soon. Omen Active-6 is basically the same model as Omen-6, but with Duncan Designed active HB-105 pair of humbuckers instead of Schecter Diamond Plus passive ones. The carved top body is still made of basswood and bound in ivory. Only, this time, color options are black gloss and black satin. 24 extra jumbo frets and semi-gothic inlays sit upon the rosewood fingerboard. Schecter Omen Active FR is a Floyd Rose equipped variant of the Omen Active-6. The Floyd Rose bridge is from the Special line, and Schecter uses it for it`s lower and mid range series models. Other options are the same as on other Omen Active models. The body is made of basswood and features the same carved top as other Omens. Schecter Omen Active-7 is a seven-string version of Omen Active-6 and features low B tuning. Schecter is known for the fact that even the budget oriented series have extended range models. In addition to that, Omen also has this Active sub-division where active pickups meet budget guitars in a very successful way. Omen Active-7, apart from the extra string, has very much common features with Omen Active-6. Schecter Special Edition Blackjack ATX Solo-7 is a model situated in the Blackjack Series and it is a rare sight, as one of the few LP inspired single cutaway models with seven strings. Wide neck, 26-1/2" scale, seven saddle tune-o-matic bridge and Seymour Duncan active Blackout humbuckers signify this is one freezing cool metal axe. The body is made of mahogany, as well as the neck. Set-in joint with ultra access and bony fingerboard with 24 extra jumbo frets guarantee top notch playability.
