Gretsch Guitars introduce seven new models to the Electromatic Collection. Five of them are fully hollow bodied electric guitars, one short-scale bass and one full-scale bass.
Even though it is summer season, people over at Gretsch Guitars have been working hard in past months. Results of their hard work are visible in the Electromatic Collection`s roster. It features seven fantastic new models introduced just in time for the summer edition of 2012 NAMM Show. All of these models are fully hollow-bodied, as it is a tradition for Gretsch Guitars and all provide magnificent quality for the money invested. MSRPs vary from around $1,000 to $1,500. Five of these are electric guitars: G5422DC-12, G5422TDCG, G5420T, G5420LH and G5422TDC. Short-scale bass is G5442BDC and the long-scale bass is G5440LSB.
Gretsch G5422TDC is the first of seven updates of the Electromatic Collection of guitars and basses by Gretsch. It comes with a double cutaway body made entirely of maple. It is paired with a neck also made of maple. Black, Transparent Red and Walnut Stain are color options assigned to this model and all come with gloss urethane finish. Adjust-o-matic bridge has rosewood bass and is paired with Bigsby tailpiece. Filtertron humbuckers are installed in pickups department. 22 frets, humpblock inlays and 1-11/16" wide string nut complete the fingerboard. MSRP is set at $1,250. Gretsch G5422TDCG is a newly introduced model from Electromatic Collection and it comes with a lot of features common to the rest of the series. It has a double cutaway body made of maple which is paired with maple neck. White binding, pair of "f" holes and pickguard are featured on the top. Filtertron humbuckers occupy the pickups positions. TDCG is equipped with Bigsby vibrato and gold-plated hardware. Snow White is the only color option for this model. Rosewood fingerboard features 22 medium jumbo frets, humpblock inlays and 1-11/16" wide string nut. 24-1/2" scale is standard for all models introduced. Gretsch G5422DC-12 is the only twelve-stringer introduced among these seven novelties. It is a fully hollow-bodied guitar with a double cutaway body made entirely of maple. Both Black and Sunburst color options are finished in high gloss and equipped with chrome hardware. Adjust-o-matic bridge with rosewood base is paired with trapezoid tailpiece. Filtertron humbuckers with three-way toggle switch are standard features. Maple neck is topped with a fingerboard made of rosewood. The MSRP is set at $1,250. Gretsch G5420T and Gretsch G5420LH are twin models, where T is a right and LH is a left-handed model. Their specs are almost identical, with the exception of the bridge section. G5420T features a Bigsby vibrato, while the G5420LH comes with a fixed bridge. Bodies of both models are hollow, made of maple and equipped with single cutaway constructions. Filtertron pickups are installed on both guitars. Maple necks are topped with rosewood fingerboards with 22 medium jumbo frets. G5420 costs $1,250 and LH costs $1,100. Gretsch G5442BDC is the one of two hollow-bodied bass guitars introduced with this Electromatic update. It`s most prominent feature is it`s 30-1/4" long scale. Double cutaway body is made of maple and paired with a maple neck. Adjust-o-matic bridge is plated in chrome, as is the rest of the hardware. Pickups are Filtertron humbuckers for bass. Fingerboard is made of rosewood and it comes with 22 medium jumbo frets, humpblock inlays and 1.60" wide string nut. The MSRP for this four-stringer is set at $1,300. Gretsch G5440LS is the second of two basses introduced into the Electromatic Collection and it is the only full-scale bass unveiled this time, as it`s scale measures 34 inches in length. It comes with a hollow single cutaway body made entirely of maple. Filtertron humbuckers and adjust-o-matic bridge with rosewood base are standard for this model. Both Black and Orange color variants come finished in gloss urethane finish. Maple neck is topped with a 22-fret fingerboard made of rosewood.
