Four acoustic guitars, two mandolins and one acoustic bass are being introduced just in time for the biggest event of this summer, the Summer NAMM Show edition for 2012.
As the Summer NAMM approaches, Fender shifts into overdrive to bring some fantastic acoustic updates. Judging by the range and quality of these new models, this will be one hot summer. Acoustic-electric guitars, acoustic-electric basses, one acoustic-electric mandolin and one fully acoustic mandolin are refreshing the Fender catalog this summer. Four acoustic-electric guitars that are being introduced are: Sonoran SCE Bucket, Tim Armstrong Hellcat 12, Tim Armstrong Hellcat 12 Left Handed and CD-220CE Zebrano. New mandolins are A-styled FM-101 and F-styled FM-63SE. Acoustic-electric bass comes with the name CB-100CE.
Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat 12 and Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat 12 Left Handed are twin models based on the original Hellcat models with six strings. These two come with all mahogany bodies and maple necks covered with rosewood fingerboards. Fender applies Fishman Isys electronics on these babies. Isys pickup/preamp system fits this model like a sonic glove. Chrome hardware, 25-1/3" scale, satin finish, rosewood bridge with compensated saddle and 1.77" wide synthetic bone nut complete the story for these cool cats. Fender Sonoran SCE Bucket is a guitar made by crossbreeding the California series Sonoran with T-Bucket. The result is a Sonoran Bucket, model of fantastic performance and affordable price. This flame burst colored acoustic-electric guitar features Fishman Isys III pickup/preamp system with on-board tuner. Laminated mahogany is used for back and side panels, while the top is made of laminated spruce. Maple neck features Stratocaster headstock and it is topped with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard. Chrome hardware, 25-1/3" scale, compensated rosewood bridge, 1.625" wide synthetic bone nut and 12" fingerboard radius complete the specs. Fender CD-220 Zebrano is a brand new acoustic-electric guitar made by Fender. It is situated within the acclaimed Classic Design series. Entire body is made of zebrano wood and it is paired with mahogany neck. Fingerboard upon this neck is made of rosewood and features a standard set of 20 frets with white dot position inlays. Electronics installed on this model feature Fishman`s Presys pickup/preamp system with on-board tuner. Scalloped X bracing, satin and gloss combo finish, 25-1/3" scale, gold plated hardware and 1.625" bone nut complete this guitar. Fender CB-100CE is an acoustic-electric bass introduced for the summer of 2012. It aims at players who prefer acoustic feel of the bass and are looking for a good price/quality ratio. It comes with a natural colored dreadnought body with single cutaway and gloss finish. Laminated mahogany is used for back and sides and laminated spruce for the top. Fender installs a combination of under-saddle pickup and preamp in the electronics department. Mahogany neck is equipped with Jazz Bass profile and topped with a rosewood fingerboard. 22 frets, 12" radius, dot inlays and 34" scale complete the fingerboard. Fender FM-101 is an A-Styled mandolin and it comes with laminated wood construction. Back and sides are made of laminated nato wood, while the top is made of laminated spruce. Sunburst is the only color option available and it comes finished in gloss. Bridge on this model is made of rosewood and it features a compensated saddle. Neck is made of nato wood and it is topped with a rosewood fingerboard. 21 frets, dot position markers and 1.12" synthetic bone nut complete the fingerboard. Fender FM-63SE is an acoustic-electric mandolin, a brand new one in the Fender catalog. This one is prepared to start at the NAMM Show this summer. It comes with F-styled body made of solid maple back and sides with laminated spruce top. This model is available only in sunburst color with gloss finish. Neck is made of maple and it is topped with a 24-fret fingerboard mad of rosewood. Dot position inlays and 1.12" wide synthetic bone nut complete the fingerboard specs. 13.7" scale, golden hardware and compensated rosewood bridge wrap the specs list.
