Epiphone comes up with new installments in Les Paul and SG series. Two SGs and one Les Paul are being introduced. All bear PRO label.
Legendary guitars, such as Les Paul and SG have been made by Gibson and Epiphone in numerous variants over the decades. With countless copies and similar models by almost every other brand, these shapes have achieved iconic status and their fame spreads far beyond the confines of music industry. This time around Epiphone comes with a set of affordable models, two in the SG series and one in Les Paul. G-400 PRO, G-400 PRO Left Handed and Les Paul Standard Plus Top PRO are the names of the novelties. All three of these models feature coil splitting, an appointment rarely seen on Gibson/Epiphone guitars.
Epiphone G-400 PRO and Epiphone G-400 PRO Left Handed are brand new SG-shaped models from the Epiphone`s catalog. They come with a classic thin mahogany body with beveled edges and characteristic "devil horns" double cutaway. Bridge section is made up of tune-o-matic bridge and stoptail bar in the back on both models. Epiphone`s Alnico Classic Pro active humbuckers with coil-splitting are installed on both guitars. Set mahogany necks are set in and topped with rosewood fingerboards. 22 medium jumbo frets, trapezoid inlays and 1.68" wide string nuts are featured on them. 24-3/4" scales and nickel hardware complete the specs lists. Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top PRO comes with a classic Les Paul shaped body with single cutaway. Mahogany is the material for the body and it is topped with a flamed maple top veneer. Trans Blue, Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Wine Red, Vintage Sunburst and Honey Burst are color options available for this LP. Bridge section is a standard one and consists of a tune-o-matic bridge with stoptail bar in the back. Pro-Bucker 3 is placed in the bridge and Pro-Bucker-2 in the neck position. Split volume and tone knobs control them. Volume knobs are equipped with push-pull switches for coil splitting. Mahogany neck is set and features rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets.
