Sterling by Music man deals with affordable end of Music Man`s catalog. Both guitars and basses with lower price tags are sold as Sterling. This kind of practice is met throughout the entire industry and represents a convenient and lucrative way for big brands which are known for their high-end instruments to enter the budget-friendly market. Fender has Squier, Epiphone is Gibson`s budget-friendly brand and Music Man is selling their affordable models through Sterling. Most recent update of Sterling`s catalog is SUB Silo 3, a solid, double cut six stringer. SUB is a small series with only one more six-stringed model in it. It`s main aim is at the players who want to switch from the absolute beginner`s model to something a bit better, but are still restricted by the budget. Sterling by Music Man SUB Silo 3 is a solid-bodied guitar with double cut construction. Body of this model is made of hardwood and it`s carved on the top. There is no fancy binding or top wood covers. This body is paired with a bolted maple neck. Neck is equipped with an asymmetrical contour and satin finish. Pickups are laid out in HSS pattern, they`re passive and equipped a basic control unit. Master volume, master tone and five-position blade switch comprise it. Bridge is a vintage-styled tremolo with six adjustable saddles, chrome plating and string-through construction. Fingerboard comes with both rosewood and maple options. Both feature 22 medium frets with dot inlays. 25-1/2" scale and chrome-plated tuning machines complete the story of this model.
